“Great Place for the $$$$”
After spending 11 days at 1800 Atlantic I certainly would encourage people to stay there. The location is great, close enough to Duvall street yet far enough away that the crowds do not exist. I would take a cab to Duvall street for my nights on the town and the fare would be 8 bucks. The beach is right at the end of the building, the pool area is really nice, and the indoor parking is a nice plus. The condo itself was spacious, equiped with everything you could need, had a nice big balcony with an ocean view, and a washer and dryer. I suppose some might say the decor was dated, but when you go to Key West, your outside 16 hours a day, and if your not, you might just as well stay home. The condo was a real bargin and I hope to stay there again.
“Pleasantly Surprised”
After looking at all the reviews I was a little nervous about going to 1800. My family and I loved it there! All the comforts of home, and very clean. Had a great balcony that we used everyday. Loved the pool, it was olympic size and we used it that every day also. We felt very safe since you need a key to get in every part of the condo. The only draw back was it is advertised that the condo is on the beach, but its mostly rocks. But if you go about 100 yards to the left of the condo there is a beach that is nice and you can rent watersports. Great vacation!! Would highly recommend this condo.
“Very nice location..”
The Condo complex is on the quiet side of Key West, but perfect for when you want to go back and relax. Waterfront and close to the beaches.
“Needs updating”
This is not a hotel but a condo complex that is about 50% owner occupied and 50% vacation rentals. Located right on the ocean but not near any services. You will need a car to get to Duval Street or walk 30 plus minutes which we did a couple of time but with a young son and one of our moms with us it was not walkable daily. The space and the view of the condo that we rented were great. However, if you are light sleeper be aware that our unit was on the third floor just above a very busy road where cars had to slow and then accelerate around an extreme corner. The trucks and moter bikes were loud weekday and weekends alike. The was last decorated in the early 80"s, everything was pink and light blue and extremely worn. The bedding was old and cheap, towels were tread bare and the mattresses were sunken and lumpy. It had 3 large sliders that opened to a large balcony, the unfortunate part is that the vertical blinds would not open without falling apart. The dead bolt was not functioning correctly and we were locked out...twice and required security assistance. The dryer did not heat and we had to take 2 loads of wet laundry home with us. We may have gotten a bad unit and would request specific unit pictures before I would even think about returning. Bottom line it was great size and a good location but this owner needs to attend to details like basic bedding updates and painting the walls in all rooms. Good luck if you rent with this particular company.
“will go back”
floor were very dirty. not enough detergent to clean bedding and towels. great pool area, nice building.
“Nice , but .........”
The location was great, the pool was beautiful, the condo was very roomy and clean BUT......... the beds were very old and NOT comfortable at all. Maybe another condo in the complex has better beds but, no way to know. My husband slept on the couch one night other than the beds..... it was very nice. Decor was dated.
“Never again.”
Dirty, noisy, not ocean front but across the road. Towels were rags. Beds were horrible. Had to wash EVERYTHING - dishes, towels, sheets before we could use them. SOOOO NOISY!!!
“Relaxing and comfortable condo...... wish we were still there!!”
Our stay was great. The condo had alot of room and was very comfortable and clean. The secure parking and court yard area was great. But the hot tub, pool and steam room was wonderful!!!! If we stay in Key West this would be a place we would stay again. The only thing I wish they would change is the hot tub hours. It closed at dusk and I don't know about anyone else but evening hours is when I wanted to be in it. After a long day out and about it would have been great just to relax in the hot tub. Due to the hours we only got in once.
“Great Place to stay!!”
This place was better than I could have hoped for. We had friends coming in and out throughout the whole weekend. This place had more than enough room to accomodate us all. It was spacious, very clean, and a beautiful view of the ocean. The pool and beach area were great, you can grill down there. It was perfect for a long weekend with friends or family. We made use of the kitchen which had all the cooking supplies. Its not close enough to walk to duval st but we taxied each night out there for like $5 per person. All in all it was a great stay.
“Would love to own a condo in this complex”
Had a great time. Weather was good but cool for November. Flew directly in to Key West. Smathers Beach was well maintained and cleaned every day. Wish this complex would try to work on a little better beach area of their own.
