“Nice Romantic place but needs more love”

My boyfriend and I wanted to get away for my birthday. The hotel was very nice and centrally located. I loved the hotel for its beautiful ideas of romantic spots on the grounds of the property. I did not like that the advertised chess game board was not there and you can tell that the hotel management really did not care about the up keep of the place. Overall I would come back but I wish they put just a little more love into the place because it had so much potential. The staff were nice. We originally were going to drive down to Key West but found it to be more romantic and private while being on the grounds of the hotel. There is a gorgeous Marina dock and sitting area facing the ocean. Beware of the Raccoon's, the cats were friendly..lol The Arcade room was permanently closed. The restaurant was permanently closed. If they just paid attention to guest needs and not treat the hotel like the rest of the crappy places around that area.

“Nice place!”

Very nice visit. I only stayed for one night but the staff was very helpfull in getting me checked in quickly. The room had a small odor of old-ness, but was otherwise very clean and comfortable.

“We had the best vacation”

We got to the hotel, and when we opened the door to our room, all you could see was this beautiful view of the gulf, mirrored by palm trees. The staff is friendly, and we enjoyed the tiki bar and the pool. Our room was so comfortable and cool! We will definitely stay there again. For you beachgoers: the beach is very small with no swimming area, but Sombrero Beach is perfect. Go back north, and turn right by the Bank of America, follow 2.1 miles down. parking is free, and there are showers and bathrooms. Stay at this hotel! You have everything here, and Noni at the Tiki Bar is very sweet and chatty. We liked that. This was a second honeymoon, and we will SO stay here again!

“Favorite Marathon Hotel”

We have been vacationing in the Florida Keys annually for years - Have finally found a hotel with good rates and great location! This facility has a beautiful L-shaped swimming pool, jacuzzi and tiki bar! There is also a Marina on the gulf side with excellent sunsets and a great spot for a wedding or just a cookout! Can't wait to go back!

“I would go back in a minute”

I had one small problem with the key. They sent an employee while I was eating lunch, and he resolved the problem right away. Great customer service.

“"Neat little hotel"”

Banana Bay hotel and Marina is a great find in Marathon, Fl. The Cabana restaurant on-site is good with a bar. The pool is large and heated! Rooms were clean and the housekeeper was very freindly. A little pricey but everything is in the Keys during winter. Great little hidden gem.

“Can't wait to go back”

A couple of maintenance problems, which were not inconvenient, such as light fixtures and clock radio

“Peaceful and Relaxing”

Loved staying at this hotel. Not only is the location perfect for everything we wanted to do, but you did not have alot of noise through out the hotel which made it great to relax. At times you did not even hear the people in the room next door. The pool was great. The only thing that was not good was that the jacuzzi was not working probably and it would not get hot. Other than that it was a great stay. Very relxed labor day weekend. Not to far. Was able to head out to Key West for dinner one night. Plus i already love staying in Marathon but this hotel made it better. Rooms were clean. Very spacious. bed was very comfortable. For a light sleeper like myself it was perfect. Cute little balcony to sit at and just catch the breeze. Definitely would recommend to others and I will definitely be back.

“Very charming, great staff, family and kid friendly”

Very friendly and helpful staff. Pool area is beautiful, gardens are lush and well maintained. Grocery store near by, lots to do in immediate area. Carpets in guests room were damp, but that's due to the humidity. This resort was very kid-friendly, great for families. We did some fishing and snorkeling right from the resort's beach. Our only real criticism is that poolside bar prices were outrageously expensive- $10 for a regular sized pina colada and $3 for a can of domestic beer. After the first round, we quit and went elsewhere. If the prices had been just a little more reasonable we would have been happy to give them all of our business for the weekend, but it was so over-the-top that they lost our food and beverage business altogether.
