“The pool was the best!”

We plan to stay there again. The price for the stay was affordable, the place is older but clean. It had most of what we wanted such as a full kitchen and sitting room. The location was very convenient. The pool was the best around!!!

“Florida Keys flavor in a great location, helpful staff”

This is a typical Keys hotel that has been somewhat remodeled but still maintains original kitchen appliances, etc. It is good for families because you have a separate living room with a foldout couch, kitchen with full-sized fridge, and our bedroom had two beds (double I think) that could sleep 4. It includes a marina and marina tiki bar, a great place for a pitcher of beer at the end of the day. There is a roughly 2 mile walking/running circle around a golf course that is very convenient for those who exercise. The beach is about 3 miles away, a very short drive with free parking. While you are within walking distance of a Publix and other shopping, the hotel is off the main drag and quiet. We were there for the Marathon Seafood Festival in March, which was a blast. We bought 5 lbs of stone crab claws for $20 and those were dinner that night for 2 of us. The staff were consistently friendly and helpful. The pool area was clean and convenient. This is a hotel with true Florida Keys flavor -- don't expect luxury, but there are a lot of great features at a reasonable price.

Our stay at Boatman's was GREAT! We loved our rooms, and really enjoyed the pool and tiki bar on our down time. The owners are definitely upgrading the whole place, and so far it looks wonderful. The restaurant was closed while we were there for updating, but we enjoyed the burgers, etc. at the tiki bar for the times we didn't want to look for a restaurant elsewhere. People were relaxed and friendly. Staff was very friendly and helpful with suggestions of where to go and what to do during our stay. Rates were the most reasonable of anywhere we stayed in the Keys and the resort was by far the best! Nice neighborhood for taking a walk--overall we loved it and will definitely come back here and stay for our whole visit at Boatman's next time!

Not the Hilton, but very comfortable, a little old, but for the great price we paid through Expedia it can't be beat. When can I retire in that area??

“don't bother”

March 23, 2009: the furniture was old and dirty. the couch had cigerett burns on it and the coffee tables were both broken.there was and old moldy smell to the room. This may have been a great hotel 20-30 years ago, but not today. Wasn't worth the money I spent.Look else where!!!

“Great Place to Stay with Your Family”

We stayed at this hotel in April 2008 with our 6 children under the age of 10. It was a great place to stay, if you are on a budget, which is hard not to be when travelling with your family. The hotel is not the newest (older carpet, furnishings and appliances), but it was clean. It was great (for the price) to have a kitchen and a separate living area. They have 2 double beds in the bedroom, I wish they had 1 Q or K bed and then a set of bunk beds or something. The pool is heated nicely (like bath water) and is not super chlorinated...I think they have one of those salt-water filters. There is a restaurant that serves reasonably priced meals right by the pool....and a bar that has nightly live entertainment--which was actually really good and fun. You can also walk along the marina, and to another dock-side restaurant a couple of blocks away. Fun to see all the big boats. Sombrero Beach (less than a 5 minute drive from the hotel)is BEAUTIFUL....one of the best that I have seen on the keys or anywhere else. Palm Trees, White Sands, and Green/Blue Water. We even saw dolphins. There is a Publix and K-Mart VERY close to the hotel for convenient shopping. Ample parking too. Its right in the middle of the keys. Great location. About a 90 minute drive to Key West. We'd defintiely stay there again.

It is very hard to pick a place to stay online when you have never been there, after reading some of the reviews we all most did not stay there.I am glad we did the room was great the people were great. an we were close to everything. just goes to show you dont beleve every thing you read. some people you just cant please. we will be back.
