“nice place”
it was good
“nice view and large room!”
stayed here in Marathon for Lobsterfest since Key West was sold out. It was a 45 minute drive and it was a nice room with a living room. They also had a bar by the pool which was fun.
“Smelly!!!”
In general the hotel had the ability to be a good hotel for a decent price. However....the room smelled horribly bad. When we complained to the front desk, they offered to move us but the new room smelled bad as well. We ended up going to the store and getting fabric freshener to spray on the carpet, furniture, curtains, beds, and air conditioner filters. This mad the room survivable. The carpets were very stained. I wouldn't let my children sit on the floor nor did we walk bare footed on it. Thank goodness for flip flops!!!
“Not a Resort”
!st room smelled. 2nd room air did not work. 3rd room old bed, mattress needed to be replaced long ago. Things falling apart in every room they moved us to. On the 4th floor, no elevators working. How do they call this a resort, they don't offer any amenities. Property very dirty except for the front lobby. Barbara in the front lobby was very nice. Pictures are not accurate by a long shot.
“OK but not impressed will not stay there again”
We choose a non smoking room and when we got there the room smelled like a 24 pack of cig. The AC leaked therefore the carpet was wet the whole time we were there. I had to go to the store and get Air freshiner. You could not walk bare feet in the room because the floor was dirty. We stay at the keys every year and take our boat and this is the only place we stayed at ever that we had to pay to keep our boat in the water. Its a good thing we did not spend a lot of time in the room only to sleep and shower. The only good thing I could say about the room is the size very good size apartments. But no worry here 1st and last time we will stay there.
“Broken A/C”
what can be more horrible than staying in a hotel room with two childdren and no A/C! the room was like a minny apt, size wise it was decent however the a/c was broken and there was NOTHING offered to accomodate or make it better. Horrible experience. Oh and on top of everything there is some extra $20 fee charged to my account, no idea why, will be calling today...as there was nothing taken from the room we literally only slept and left by 6 a.m. because of how hot it was!
“Nice nights at Marathon Key”
I liked it! Next time I will go back again! Thank you!
“Easy drive to the beach, shopping and eateries.”
Nice pool friendly staff. Elevator did not work.
“Not impressed”
hard to find, directions bad, elevators broken, AC leaked and were loud, falling off the wall, duct taped, lightbulb missing from entrance switch (never replaced when asked) hair dryer broken, electrical switch loose, AC outlet sparking, no ice from ice machine, room not cleaned daily, dirty sink, complaints were ignored, carpet wet from leaking AC and electrical cord lying on the we rug (dangerous shock potential) - polite but very poor and inexperienced management. Despite construction this place could have been better managed and followed up on complaints. I did enjoy the boats out the door and the wonderful person I was with. I won't return.
“gregs review”
The Hotel was undergoing sewer repairs during my visit. Due to the constuction there were minor inconveniences that would have annoyed most travelers. The first floor elevator was not accesable during my stay due to constuction issues with my assigned building. There were several power outages also during my stay which was due to the construction. Overall the room was everything I expected. The location of the access road was in between the 2 super markets. The location was also very quiet. I believe that after the repairs are completed this will be a nice place. I liked the pool it was 8 ft deep and nice and warm and clean. the bar next to the pool was a nice touch also. The staff was pleasant and very helpfull. The Internet also was of good quality.Overall the stay was very pleasant and made a wonderful base for exploring the rest of the Florida Keys.
