first class resort

Posted Apr 9, 2014
Pros: location, setting, view, amenities
Cons: the service in the food service area is not on a par with the rest of the resort. A resort on this level should have classically trained service.
awesome location. first class setting and amenities. best location on Key West. what a property

Renovation

Posted Mar 29, 2014
lots of staff people everywhere. excellent beach and pools. brand new contemporary room. they must be finishing up a renovation in the middle of peak season. the hallway was being re carpeted and we had to walk on glue the first day and on carpet pad the next day.

Sunny luxury in the middle of a snowy winter

Posted Mar 26, 2014
Pros: *beach location *Separate adult and children's pool is genius *hammocks slung between the palm trees are heaven *romantic dinner on the sand was great
Cons: The carpets in the hallways were old and coming away from the floors a bit. $27 for breakfast buffet (even for children) was a bit steep
Location: Location right on the beach and away from Duval was perfect for us. Southernmost point and Wonderful restaurants walkable from the Hotel.
We've stayed at the Casa five or six times over the years. We like it because it has its own beach and is located away from the fray of Duval Street. Our group ranged in age from 78 year old grandparents to our 8 year old child, and the Casa kept us all happy and relaxed. The rooms are clean and the beds are very comfy. The views from the rooms was lovely. The staff was very friendly and helpful. Everything was accessible for my mother who is disabled. It was a wonderful place to get away from a northeast winter.

Great service at beautiful resort.

Posted Mar 25, 2014
Pros: Beach, setting, ambiance.
Cons: The room was nothing special and we we're put in a handicap room even though that's not what I booked.
Location: Best beaches are right by hotel. Duval is an easy trolley or cab ride away. We also walked several times. The opposite end of Duval is 30 min walk.
The best place to stay in Key West. Away from the wildness of Duval but easy to get to. The beach hammocks are to die for and the staff is super attentive. You are definitely catered to.

Lot's of potential, but

Posted Mar 23, 2014
Pros: Beautiful courtyard and pool area. Incredible beach front views
Cons: Better furnishings in the rooms. Drop the ridiculous valet fees. Resort fee is already enough and so is the cost of the room,
We’re on the fence about recommending this hotel. Without question, the courtyard and beachfront views are what make this a spectacular place to stay. The room fell FAR short, especially for the price. TV was pathetically old and small, bathroom was almost too small to get in to. Furnishings were subpar save for the bed. We would have expected better from a Waldorf property. So if you’re planning on being out more than in, it’s tough to turn this place down. However if your room size and comfort is important to you, you may want to consider something else. Oh, and $30 for valet parking is disgusting considering how much you pay for your room. Another big strike.

Casa Marina in Key West

Posted Mar 22, 2014
Beautiful hotel. Bathroom was small for this expensive hotel. Bathroom shower needed the grout cleaned badly. Door was spot painted multiple times when they should've painted the entire door. Now the good....great view, large balcony, at the pool every hour they hand out treats like frozen towels, water, ice pops, sample of drink of the day. Staff was always willing to help! Lovely hotel.

Definitely not 4 star!

Posted Mar 20, 2014
They called it a spa. It's a hotel room with a massage table. Not the same. Rest of the facility is nice. Not quite walking distance but nice scenery. Just don't rely in the elite reputation of the name. It's a 3 1/2 star hotel.

Walk around this lovely old, historic hotel and just feel the history of Key West. Great, friendly staff, excellent food and a wonderful view. Will come back again.
