Should not be called. Waldorf

Posted Aug 15, 2014
I would not recommend this hotel. It should be considered a 2.5 star hotel. It's old and not updated The rooms smell musty and does the lobby. The service was not good in any regard. When we pulled up to valet our car no one welcomed us or offered help with luggage. Same was for when we were leaving. It's not a classy hotel at all. It specified private beach, there was no sand it's an oceanfront with rocks for sand! The particians between the ground floor lanai rooms are all rusted. The shower doors have soap scum on them. I wore water shoes in the shower. This hotel is NOT up to par with any Waldorf I've seen or stayed.

Beware inconsistent "policies"

Posted Aug 11, 2014
When booking this hotel I called to clarify late check out policies, since that was very important to our stay. When I checked in I was told something very different, involving extra charges, etc.. that I had not been informed about when I called. When I brought up the phone call upon which I had based my booking, I was rudely informed that it was too bad. I felt that the facility was lovely but our room was just fine, I could hear the people above us walking around and using the facilities. Felt that the cost of the room, plus the parking fee, plus the resort fee, plus the potential late check out fee was pretty stiff for the very short amount of time that we stayed there, given that we checked in late and then had to check out earlier than I had been planning.

Excellent place to stay

Posted Aug 8, 2014
Can't really get much better than this. Excellent food at dinner and breakfast. Two pools, one separate for the kids. Hotel and room very clean. Close to Duval street with most of the shops and entertainment. When I go back to Key West, I'm staying here again.

$500 plus suite

Posted Aug 7, 2014
An expensive with no privacy suite, everybody including servce walk noisily around, on the first floor., room 198. Second year in the row( and obviously last) in which an Expedia reserved room seems to be the one nobody wants, at The Waldorf Astoria. We were finally changed to a normal 4 person suite after two nights of sharing our families orivacy with everyone. The same price, twice the category. Some tourist authority should end up these abuses, especially with foreign tourists.

Nice, old Hotel

Posted Jul 31, 2014
Stayed here on a prior occasion. Facility has improved after being hit by at least two hurricanes. But prices for drinks and rooms are a bit on the outrageous side. Check in desk attendant said he was searching to try and upgrade my room complementarily, but I guess I wasn't quick on the uptake and missed my chance. Room was ok, basic, bedding and pillows were fine. Oldest continuous hotel in Key West and it's kept in good condition.

Nice but too expensive for what you get

Posted Jul 29, 2014
Pros: Location, location, location and the basic setup is absolutely perfect !
Cons: staff needs to be brought up to the appropriate level
Location: As I mentioned before the location is absolutely beautiful ))
The location is absolutely beautiful, but some of the staff do not like to work and their attention to the guests is simply not as it should be in a hotel of this level.

Great hotel!

Posted Jul 28, 2014
Pros: staff, service, location
Cons: parking fee
Me and my husband stayed here for our honeymoon and it was absolutely breathtaking! It's beautiful and the staff was so nice and helpful. The valet parking and service fee were a bit pricey but you do get what you pay for. The hotel is right next to the beach, which was really nice. The hotel provides everything you need so all you need to take to the beach is your bathing suit! The hammocks were awesome and they also set up tables and chairs on the beach for dinner, which was beautiful. The hotel is also a very close drive or walk to the main shopping areas, which was a plus! Overall, the hotel is great and we can't wait to be back!
