“IslaMoradas best kept secret.”

I'd read some reviews before deciding on Casa Morada and they were all very accurate. The hotel is a little hideaway in the Keys. I'm only 2 hours out of IslaMorada and I felt like I was in another island the entire time I was there. Palm trees everywhere, nice white sand and a beautiful view of the ocean. My wife and I went with the garden view room with the jacuzzi on the balcony and it was a beautiful view. Nice candles were spread along the tub which made it more romantic. The room itself was of a nice size with a beautifully decorated king size bed in the bedroom and a nice daybed in the living room. All of the employees that we made contact with during our stay were more than helpful and very polite. The amenities were also a plus. They have complimentary bikes which are a plus because everything is within a stones throw from the resort. There was also kayaking which was a first for me but also very nice. Specially since its the keys and you can go out 1/2 mile and still be in only 4 feet of water. I will definetely be staying there again in the near future.

“Private, quiet getaway”

We were looking for a quiet, private hotel & that is exactly what we found... great service, good location in close proximity to restaurants. Rooms were clean. Only negative was mosquitos - take bug spray.

“A Zen like oasis”

Casa Morada is for "getting away from it all". The (small) grounds are truly spectacular in their zen like simplicity. They are ideal for contemplation, meditation or just sun lounging. Our "suite" was a big, light bedroom furnished in a minimalist way. The closet was designed for a nudist colony. the bathroom was small, even pokey, but it had all the essentials. The external terrace/balcony was intended for midgets. One must regard half of the daily rate as paying for the room and service and the the other half for the "ambiance" - which is great!!

“Go to the Islander, the rooms are much nicer.”

Grounds are nice. Room ok except for bathroom. Very small and dated - probably redone in 80's on 1950's footprint. Tiny bathtub. Taking shower standing in tub an exercise in fighting shower curtain. Never seen a toilet use more water i.e. old and it broke. No fan. There was a stone counter around sink but didn't offset tub/toilet room Breakfast good but disorganized. One day no cream, no sign of any staff. Next day staff appeared, swept crumbs from tables into chairs (solving the puzzle of how anyone could have got so many crumbs on their chair). No one ever asked if we'd like to order anything extra like an omlette. Owner seems to care but needs to spend some real money for the place to justify its price. Despite nice grounds, bandaids of nice croisants or stone counter are not enough.
