The Hotel was nicer than we thought.

Pros: The plants.
Cons: The young woman hosting the sushi made us wait (not a big problem) but refused to tell us why. All rooms should have a microwave.
Location: Went fishing with a guide at Postcard Resort and Marina down the road. The sushi and chef were great as were the pizzas.
The $30/day facility charge was clearly explained and offered a lot of elective activities. The room seemed a bit small for the price, but not outrageous. Staff were very helpful when we decided to stay another day.

Great getaway!

Pros: Comfy room, good food, extremely clean, great location!
Cons: Had 3 drinks on the beach in one afternoon. I'm pretty sure there was NO alcohol in them.....
Location: We were only there for 2 days, so we stayed at the property the entire time.
Very relaxing, even enjoyed a thunder & lightening storm while dining outside at Limoncello!

Fabulous location!

Pros: The location and the strawberry daiquiris
Cons: The cost of the food - ridiculous!
Overall, we enjoyed our stay at the Cheeca Lodge. The facilities are all there and the beach is beautiful, a great place to get away and relax. My only one comment would be that for the price of the room, I would have at least expected to have breakfast included. Their buffet breakfast starts at $25 per person which is ridiculous. Luckily there are a lot of excellent places in Islamorada which does a decent breakfast, lunch or dinner (Midway Cafe, Green Turtle Inn, Lazy Days restaurant) which makes up for the astronomical prices of the food. I would recommend Cheeca Lodge for the location but tell everyone to travel a mile down the road for a decent, well priced meal.

Nice hotel on the beach.

Pros: beach, pools, Tiki Hut service - it was the place to be. They could use more space
Cons: Dining experience service. Upgrade rooms with better lighting and mirrors
No phone in room which I asked for 3 different times. Not enough outlets when sharing room with another female. Tiki Hut personal were great - Fast and Fun services! Can't say the same for Limoncello service. It took us 3 1/2 hr to be serviced dinner and we only had a light dinner with no drinks. Beach and pools were relaxing - good service at the beach. Nice workout equipment

May be not for all

Posted Feb 7, 2014
Pros: The food was good.
Cons: I do not understand why a bedroom with a king bed has to cost more than the same room with two queen beds. $39 for daily activity fee - Why?
Location: The only attraction we enjoyed is Key West but it is two hours drive. The Coral reef visit in the boat was very unpleasant and is not recommended.
If you are not a tennis player or a golfer you are over paying for a nice hotel. The beach is not a real beach and no one was using it since the water are not as attractive as in Cancun.
