“Can't wait to go back!”
A great relaxing week. Never left the property and that was fine with me. Everything we wanted/needed was at our fingertips.
“VERY IMPRESSIVE”
Luxurious amenities and first class service
“I'll Be Back”
very relaxing - beautiful surroundings - great staff
“Expected A 4-Star Experience But Did Not Measure Up”
This resort has a wonderful reputation and I'm afraid has been living on the reputation for a long time. Unfortunately, the resort does not deliver a 4-star experience any longer and is a very average place that charges 4-5 star prices. The food in the restaurant is very over-priced. The drinks are over-priced and there are additional charges for everything. For example, if you wish to rent a kayak or small sailboat, you are charged $55 on top of the resort fee. Other than the use of the pool and beach (which has no sand and contains very sharp rocks if you want to wade in the water, it's a mystery what the "resort fee" really includes. The room was small. It was recently upgraded, but the ceiling fan light didn't work, the towels were very worn and scratchy and the linens were old and worn. This is NOT a 4-star experience. The maid service was not good. No new towels were provided and the room wasn't cleaned or touched one day until they turned down the beds that weren't made earlier in the day and still no cleaning of the bathroom or towel replacement. I would not go back again.
“Guest Service Lacking”
Room had paper thin walls and most mornings was awakened by loud maids in the next room over or out in the hallway. Young man who was a desk clerk the evening of Oct 12th was the worst desk clerk I've encountered in over 20 years of traveling. When your room key is inoperable, it's wise not to blame the guest at 11:30 at night and insinuate they are stupid. Brenton however, saved our stay. He was professional and courteous. I would need to swallow hard and give it much thought before returning.
“Stay at Cheeca”
The service was great. The place is very well maintained outside, however, I expected more consistency in the room cleaning. We stayed for 7 days and noticed that some days room was cleaned and some days housekeeper decided not to come. The beach in was cleaned just once during our stay. Other wise, it was a nice stay, but not what I would expect from the 4 star hotel.
“Very Relaxing”
Our Lagoon view was extremely relaxing. I absolutely loved and appreciated the pristine condition of the landscaping and beach area. I feel you get more value for your dining dollar at surrounding restaurants, however.
“So disappointing! Nothing like the pictures”
We were very disappointed, and left after the 1st night of a planned 4-night stay. The hotel is basically a glorified "sheraton airport hotel" in a supposedly exotic location ,,, but has not been maintained well. -- The room was so noisy that we could hear the conversation of our neighbours word by word. -- In the morning, at breakfast, there apparently was not an espresso machine in the hotel that worked -- in the evening, the quality of the food (and service! very fake) was terrible. Not to be recommended
“The unquestioned jewel of the Keys.”
What an amazing place! The grounds are immaculate, the ocean views stunning, the room was elegant, amazingly clean and comfortable, and the staff could not have been nicer. So much to do at Cheeca you don't even have to leave the grounds, but if you do, you are right in ten middle of every water activity imaginable. We went to Marathon and Key West on this trip, but the next time we come to the Keys Cheeca will be our only stop.
“Cheeca understands service”
We recently visited Cheeca in July, 2011. Our kids are 7 and 10 years old and enjoyed exploring every inch of the resort- from the pool, jacuzzis, lagoon, bikes, tennis, golf, fishing and water sports. Our family experienced the best service in the world in Asia while living abroad for several years. It was not until we came to Cheeca that we experienced similar service in the US. Every inch of the resort is very well groomed. The breakfast was amazing with gorgeous views of the ocean. The rooms are well appointed and quiet. We hope to return to the resort someday!
