Perfect island getaway!Posted Mar 31, 2014
I LOVED the cheeca lodge and spa. There were a few hiccups with service from the bartenders, although they are friendly there is a definite discrepancy of closing times. My husband and I went down a couple different times to get cocktails about 45 minutes before they close at midnight, and they did serve us but it seemed like a huge inconvenience to them. Also, one male bartender was so over the top with his flirting it was uncomfortable for me and my husband. The valet team is amazing as is the management staff. Altogether it was great even with the few mishaps.

nice room butPosted Mar 29, 2014
we had to walk past an area that smelled like sewage. Also we ate in all three restaurants and service was uniformly terrible and the food was mediocre.

Relaxing family vacationPosted Mar 26, 2014
Pros: The location is wonderful and the grounds of this hotel are truly stunning!
Cons: Overall, we were disappointed with the quality of the food at Cheeca. The buffet breakfast was good, but pricey. Dinners are better spent elsewhere.
Location: A number of great restaurants are within walking distance. Bass Pro Shop and a small Marina are also nearby. Theater by the Sea was a huge hit.
My husband and I took our two children (6 and 2) to Cheeca to get away from this long winter we've been having. It was just what we needed. The resort and grounds are gorgeous. The weather was lovely (mid to high 70s in mid March)- the kids spent hours each day in the family pool. Mid week the pool and grounds were fairly quiet and we felt like we had much of the resort to ourselves - by the weekend things were quite a bit more crowded. The location is ideal, you can walk to nearby restaurants in the evenings (We highly recommend Morada Bay and dining on the beach) or check out Bass Pro Shop and the small marina there. The hotel shuttle is a wonderful amenity included in the daily resort fee that will take you a mile or two from the hotel with barely a wait - highly recommend! The only negative thing about our stay was that the housekeeping staff seemed to be unable to get to our room to clean it most days until late afternoon or even until turn down service. When you have a 2 year old that still takes an afternoon nap, this makes for some unecessary afternoon juggling. We did call the front desk one day about it and they sent someone up right away to take care of it (at 5pm) but I'm still not sure what the issue was? Still, it was a small problem to have.

Fantastic resortPosted Mar 18, 2014
Pros: The tropical foliage, the beach, and the attentive staff-all Perfect!! The activities on site were abundant and enjoyable!!
Cons: It would be great if you could order from any menu at any of the on-site restaurants.
Location: Great secluded location on the Atlantic, many restaurants nearby.
From the check-in champagne to the attentive staff, great food, and beautiful grounds this resort surpassed my expectations. The activities were abundant:paddle boards, kayaks, fishing, tennis, golf, boating, and of course

Nice hotel...great locationPosted Mar 17, 2014
Pros: The area was beautiful
Cons: The staff could have been friendlier and the area around the pools could have been picked up and cleaner.
Location: We loved Robbie's Mariana. Fun shopping and great boat tours. Chef Michaels was an awesome restaurant.
Overall, the hotel was very nice. It was in a great location...walking distance to many restaurants, shopping, etc. Hotel grounds were very nice.

Nice but priceyPosted Mar 9, 2014
Pros: The adult pool, amenities (sea kayaking, golf),the food was good, lack of light pollution by the beach for stargazing, the screened lanai
Cons: more lights on street by golf course or lighted walkways so you don't have to walk in the road, shelf in the shower, lighted signage, pool open longer
Location: location was midway in the keys, good restaurants nearby if you want to eat and see sunset, fishing everywhere
The hotel was good but there were some issues. On the plus side - we were greeted with a glass of champagne at check-in; there's an adult only pool and another for kids; it's on the beach; there are enough things at the resort to keep you there if you want. On the minus side - we've paid less for hotel rooms on the beach with just as nice or nicer rooms (ie. views of the ocean or gulf), the shower did not have a shelf on which to put soap/shampoo/etc so we had to put it on the floor of the shower; the rug had a hole where the rug met the tile entry; it needed more lighting outdoors at night especially by the golf course because there was only roads on which to walk (no sidewalks); and we had an unpleasant experience when we woke to 2 supersized cockroaches in the bathroom. We know it's Florida but in all the hotels we've stayed at around the world, including Florida, this is the first time we've ever had "unwelcome visitors". I went to the front desk and they seemed surprised as we were. They offered to spray the room while we were still there but I declined. I should have requested another room because I couldn't sleep thinking that their not-so-little friends would return that night. We were scheduled to checkout the next day after our initial visitors otherwise I would have requested another room. If you choose to stay there, it is a nice property and we ate a tasty lunch by the pool each day but the price is a bit high for an average room - the choice is yours.

Great property!Posted Mar 7, 2014
Cons: Room lighting in the bathroom. It was dim. and hard to see to put make-up on.
Location: Found a great spot across the street within walking distance to listen to music.
Had a wonderful time and cannot say enough about this place and hope to return. Don't miss out on a wonderful resort with full facilities.
