It felt very Florida Keys like. Lovely settingPosted Feb 21, 2014
We were greeted with warmth and felt very welcome. The setting is very nice. Nice dock to sit on. Very peaceful and quiet. Nice little breakfast in the morning. We would recommend this place to anyone.

Given the shortage of choices, a suitable place.Posted Feb 19, 2014
This was okay, clean, comfortable bed. It's on the Keys highway, so there is highway noise, that this complex can't do anything about. There were no drawers where we could unpack, no rack to put dishes we'd used and cleaned, so it felt too small and therefore cluttered. They do have unlimited juice oranges and juicers, so no limits on that! The staff was very pleasant. We would look for another place to stay if we return in the future.

just stayed 3 nights prior to a cruisePosted Feb 19, 2014
Pros: it had a nice covered cabana to use in the bright sun. Nice little continental breakfast
Cons: Needs some updating. but very comfy bed
Location: was about 13 miles fro the actual town of Marathon, Without having to drive a ways, nothing real close. But if you just want to be lazy and lay in
The place was nice, kind of in need of updating, but not too bad. Had a nice beach area and a shaded cabana area. Not too close to the main town ( about 13 miles ) . But for the price it was a good value

Pros: Not a lot
Cons: Could do with modernising
Location: Lots to do nearby by way of national parks and general beach activities
These are cottages - I am sure some are erectly nice but the one we were given was dark and dingy - sad when there were lots of empty places available. The only place to hang clothes was the bathroom where everything got damp because there was no extractor fan.

a slice of heavenPosted Dec 27, 2013
Cons: ... a dish drainer available from under the sink. A sharp knife for slicing...very minor things.
Location: Upon arrival the staff has a nice hand out of the various mile marker locations of restaurants, recreational activities.
Although it is close to Hwy 1, it felt very private because of the vegetation. Nicely appointed, well decorated, functional

Lovely, quiet locationPosted Nov 27, 2013
Pros: Location, beach, kayak & ambience
Cons: General maintainance & cleanliness
Location: Remote but plenty of eating places & tourist attractions within 30 miles
Couldn't fault the ambience of the place, very laid back & peaceful. However, the cottages could do with a makeover & a good clean. Ours was quite cramped & cutlery & crockery were in short supply. Breakfast provided was adequate. Be prepared to drive for any provisions/coffee/dinner. Despite all of the above we enjoyed our stay as it was so different & quirky.

LOVED our stay at the Conch Key Cottages!Posted Nov 12, 2013
Pros: Location, amenities, value, excellent service.
Location: Stand up paddle boarding, Key's Fisheries restaurant, 7 mile bridge, Pigeon Key Island
I booked our room back in July but a week or two before arrival had to amend the reservation and add an extra person (making a total of 4). The room we had had a sofabed in the living room so I thought it would be able to fit all of us and left that part of the reservation as is. When my fiance and I arrived to check-in, the owner told us she went ahead and upgraded us (free of charge) because she was concerned about our comfort. On top of that, we arrived at least 5 hours prior to check-in and were still allowed to check-in anyway! Also, the owner provided us with a packet of extremely useful information about water activities, things to do and see in the Keys, restaurants, etc. that played an active part in making our trip in the Keys amazing. We are so grateful to her for being such a sweetheart! As if that's not enough, the resort offers free sea kayaking, a pool, breakfast. The cottage we stayed in had a beautiful view of the beach and ocean, large patio, outdoor area to grill/lounge.. I could go on and on. We would definitely consider coming back to Conch Key Cottages on our next trip to the Keys! :)

Nice relaxing getawayPosted Nov 1, 2013
Pros: Location, out of the way and remote and on the water.
Cons: Our only disappointment was the kitchen was not fully stocked as advertised. There was no pizza pan, steak/sharp knives, proper grilling tools ,etc.
Location: Bahia Honda State Park, loved the Turtle Hospital in Marathon. Ask for the activity sheet at the front desk...good recommendations.
If you are looking for lots of people, activities and nightlife this is not the place. Our criteria was a nice out of the way relaxing getaway on the water and Conch Key Cottages certainly was right on target. The cottages are nice, clean, remote and the area is close to restaurants in Marathon. We stayed for 7 nights in October and for the most part did not run into many other guests. We stayed in Cats Eye and the unit is small and as they indicate right for 2 people not 4 unless they maybe children. There are no elevators, long lines, crossing a roadway to get to the ammenities and traffic in the complex.
