Location

Posted Nov 24, 2014
Pros: Location
Cons: Larger bathrooms
Location: Everything is nearby with the location of this hotel
Hotel was excellent if you enjoy staying on Duval. Staff and hotel were very pleasing. Except, the rooms were very small and it was very difficult to move around. Location, Location, Location.

Excellent location, very swanky- not Key West style

Posted Nov 24, 2014
Pros: The location. Very nice, nice staff.Sad thing is they still have on the Internet they have the best roof top view, not anymore .
Cons: Bring back the roof top view and put the spa on another floor.
Location: It's key west- need I say anymore . If your in good health you can walk all over,if not - ride a bike, rent a cart.
More like Manhattan - not that that's a bad thing.we were very happy there.Would stay there again.

The staff was friendly. The hotel had a boutique feel. We especially liked the bar and lobby area. The room was nice, but didn't live up to the updated lobby/bar area. If you want a location in the heart of Duval St., this is a good choice. I would stay there again.

Enjoyable stay in great location.

Pros: Location. New bar area.
Cons: Housekeeping.
Location: Centrally located on Duval Street near to bars, shops and restaurants.
We had previously stayed 5 Years ago and were immediately impressed with the recent refurbishment which was a surprise. The hotel now has a central bar which is more inviting for guests to use, especially during happy hour! Gil in the bar was great. The rooms are a good size and the bathrooms have been refurbished. The housekeeping staff seemed to take every opportunity not to clean the room. You can request a specific time scale to have your room serviced. We requested a 2 hr slot as invited to do so, and despite being out most of the day, returned to an unserviced room! Also were were offered clean towels one day when we were not ready to leave the room but I requested the full service once we went out. The new hotel spa was not for us at $300 for a 3 hr experience, inclusive of some treatments. The 'fitness room' is badly located in full sunlight from morning to night. No aircon, just ceiling fans. Overall due to location and comparable costs we would stay here again but did hear it will no longer be a Crowne Plaza, but a 'boutique' hotel with likely price increases.

A nice hotel right in the heart of town

Posted Nov 21, 2014
Pros: A fabulous location right in the heart of everything.
Cons: As noted, the food service can be a bit slow.
Location: See above.
This is a very nice property right in the heart of things to do and see on famous Duval Street. Many of the major attractions (the Ernest Hemingway house, Truman’s “Little White House,” the Mel Fisher Maritime Museum, etc.) are within easy walking distance, as are numerous shops, restaurants and bars, including the famous Sloppy Joe’s (which was given its name by Hemingway, who was a regular patron). The staff is professional and courteous and the rooms are attractive and comfortable. If you want to be in the heart of things, this hotel is hard to beat. Some care is needed in finding the hotel entrance. You drive through and opening on Duval and down the side of the building to arrive at the disembarkation area. If you don’t know that you might drive right by wondering where the entrance was. Parking is available, for an extra fee. I took a package that included breakfast. The breakfast food was very good and the portions are quite large. It is table service rather than the usual breakfast buffet. The food is a bit slow coming out of the kitchen, so leave a little extra time for breakfast if you wish to eat at the hotel. If you don’t there are many nearby places to eat.

The room and staff were excellent, hotel is old and they had a couple issues with the air in the room so I requested to be moved which the staff had no issues doing.
