“Hotel was nice. but needs some modernizing.”

The hotel has a nice tiki bar, on the beach, with good food and drinks. The hotel has a nice restaurant with a good menu. Several sail boats were tied up at the dock on the back of our room; very picturesque. The hotel was a very good value for the price.

“Wonderful place, low key hotel/motel”

If you have very high standards for a room, look elsewhere. If you're looking for one of the most relaxed, laid-back places in Florida: You should consider this place your next destination. Rustic environment, sometimes even dolphins in the morning (I was lucky enough to see them when I was there!)

“Gilbert's Resort”

No frills, but all the comforts you need at a very affordable price. Incredible location, with mornings on the dock right out the back door. Everyone was very friendly and helpful. Entertainment was decent, and a very short boat ride across to the neighboring resort (although a long walk).

“Gilberts”

Hotel is nice. Food at Tiki bar was very good. Only complain I have is the rooms are a litle old and could be updated and the mosquitoes were horrible!! Otherwise, nice trip.

“A good deal if you have a boat and just need a cheap place to stay for the night”

The room itself was very old and felt dirty. We got a good deal, so it wasn't as bad as it could be, but it was not the greatest. The grounds itself were nice enough though. Good band playing and nice outdoor tiki bar. I would only suggest it if you need a cheaper place to just stay the night.

“fine as a transit stop when visiting the Keys”

Fine as a hotel to stay over whilst in transit up or down the Keys. Room was clean inside, paint in the shower peeling off. Rooms looked poor from outside. Staff in the reception were very friendly. We had a good evening in the Tiki bar, excellent band, attentive staff and very good price. had breakfast on site, again friendly staff, basic but fine. Would certainly use it again for N overnight stop.

“mixed feelings”

Great restaurant, eclectic TIKI BAR, only issue I had was no hot water and the staff was less than helpful, and sarcastic when brought to their attention

“Not suitable for families with kids”

The location of the hotel was somewhat disappointing just off the highway bridge. The shower was not cleaned properly. The service of the Tiki bar was quite slow and not so friendly. Prices high considering quality of food. Not suitable for children since there were loud music and loud bikers
