“A great place to stay”
This was a fantastic choice. A quick walk to Duvall St, amazing grounds, superbly friendly staff, the room had a full kitchen including some basic cookware, living room.. we would definitely stay here again in a heartbeat.
“I highly recommend this hotel”
Room #5 was clean and comfortable. Spacious for a bed and breakfast room. Included a small kitchenette and access to a covered porch (with a seat swing) overlooking Eaton Street (a little street noise but usually drowned out by A/C). A/C (like a window unit) worked great and room included a ceiling fan. Hotel in great location....close to the marina and Duval Street but far enough away to avoid noise and hubbub of the party district. Desk staff super nice! Bikes to rent for $12 per day. Loaned me an umbrella the one day a few rain showers were in the area and got me a cab after checkout. Didn't eat breakfast or swim in the pool; however, pool looked clean and was secluded. Hotel well kept up given the elements that old Key West houses have to endure. Gardens were beautiful. Good value for rate paid as compared to other B&Bs I've stayed at in KW. Cannot say enough great things about this hotel. Will definetely book again on my next Key West visit.
“Little Gem in queit yet busy Key West”
please don't choose this hotel.................. ....................................we'd love to go back there and want to know we can book it again!!!! Seriously we loved our two (short!) nights in a 2 bedroom suite - ground floor, South facing (street) with verandah - and wanted to stay longer but they were fully booked around us!!! The accommodation was better than expected, had more than we needed for our short stay, comfortable big beds, well furnished, clean bathroom etc.....and the Verandah was heaven as we had sun throughout our stay - glorious. We picked up our fresh fruit and simple breakfast from the cart and took it back to sit in the sun to relax both mornings. Mid-day strolls to the nearby harbour and shops and evening strolls to busy Duval street and good all-round night-life.
“Would recommend to anyone absolutely beautiful room”
Best room I have stayed in. Enormous bed seperate large living room and very well equiped kitchen and large bathroom.
“Oasis in Key West”
Wonderful place to stay. I would definitely stay there again. Staff was really nice and helpful. Pool area was great and grounds were beautiful. Walking distance to everything you would want to see.
“Three blocks from Duval Street”
We parked our car in a free spot in front of the hotel and never moved it until we left four days later. This lovely, old hotel is within walking distance to nearly everything we wanted to see- Duval St., Mallory Square, K W Cemetery, Audubon, Lighthouse, Truman & Hemingway houses and more. Hopped a trolley for everything else. Rent bikes on premises. Not to be confused with Island House, which is for gay men. We had a ground-floor suite in back of the main house with antique furniture, small bedroom, small but nice bathroom, complete kitchen with full-size appliances, dishes & utensils, eating area, and loveseat. Loved the high ceilings with big fans. We wouldn't have enjoyed climbing the stairs to the second or third floors (no elevator) so we asked for ground floor. The very best thing was the large veranda with comfy seating that was ours exclusively, next to the tropical garden and fountain. We spent a lot of time out there reading. Loved the free breakfast every morning in the garden - fresh coffee (with half and half, not creamer), hot water & specialty teabags, orange juice, the BEST croissants and other pastries (with real butter), bananas, oranges, apples, bagels & cinnamon bread (and toasters to toast them in), yogurt, and more. The staff was very friendly and knowledgeable. The pool is small, not heated, & shaded part of the day, but there are plenty of chairs for socializing. Deck on roof for clothing-optional sunning. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay, will return!
“Good Suites!”
Ample room in our 3rd floor suite. If you have trouble with stairs, be careful which room/suite you choose. Staff was terrific.
“Wonderful friendly and picturesque hotel”
This hotel was really lovely. Very friendly staff and perfect location, away from the hustle and bustle of Duval St (didn't care much for this street) and yet very convenient for harbour and restaurants. Beautiful garden setting
“very enjoyable stay at the Island City House Hotel”
great experience, charming hotel, bike rentals available, nice pool. short walking distance to Duval St & the harbor are convenient.
“parking can be an issue”
although the place itself was nice enough, we had trouble with parking or trying to find an empty space, although not the hotels fault as such when we asked for help at reception they didnt seem to bothered. Beware of resident cats!
