“Lime Tree Review”
We enjoyed our brief stay at Lime Tree. A lot of work had been recently completed. New sidewalks and walkways welcome visitors with outside tables, chair,s and hammocks beckoning for for you attention. Lots of palm and coconut tress, and an awesome view of the Gulf side. The beds were clean and comfortable, and the overall decor and colors selected complemented the Key West feel and atmosphere. Jet ski and boat rental is available next door. An elevated swimming pool is also available. Their is a walled swimming area with Gulf water, which lacks proper maintenance is somewhat uninviting. The beach area does have a lot of rocks, as does the walled swimming area. There is a beautiful pier with a set of chairs which would compliment any time of day. The only thing that seemed to need some attention in the rooms is the hot water when taking showers. If you flush a toilet or someone turns on the sink to brush their teeth, be prepared to exit the shower. A small inconvenience that could be eliminated with the instant hot water heaters at each room. Other than that, I recommend staying at this quaint little inn. Its not perfect, but what is? The owners seemed to have worked hard to ensure a comfortable stay. And while they are very close to having a perfect little hideaway, a little tweaking here and there will push their business over the top.
“Great Little Hotel”
We stayed here for a few days over Thanksgiving. The staff was very friendly and the water was nice. If you are looking for a beach, the state park is right across the street. The free kayak rentals are awesome! There's also a jetski/boat rental place right next door. Overall, we loved the place and will be back here next year.
“Great Place to relax, view is unbeatable”
Nice place to just go and chill, nothing fancy, but the view is worth the trip. Good value for the money.
“Tropical Paradise:”
Beautiful location. The rooms were gorgeous, comfortable and efficient. I would have stayed here my entire time in the Keys if I had known how nice it was going to be. The bed was extra comfortable. I hated to climb out it the next morning. For the price, you can't beat the value!
“Great time for everyone”
I went to the Keys, and needed to get at least two rooms. One for my parents, one for me and my child, and then we had one additional person. This was the perfect answer. It had three bedrooms, each with a bathroom, and kitchen. We cooked ourselves a nice breakfast each morning, and lunch, and then went out for dinner. It was great! We are already talking about going back with other people. Well worth it. It's smack dab in the middle of the keys.
“Old Style”
The hotel is nice, clean, a little old but several important points: 1. The beach is very rocky and seaweedy in front of the hotel. Not great swimming, but good for fishing. 2. The upstairs rooms are only accessible by stairs. 3. The walls are thin, so if noise bothers you, bring earplugs. 4. There is no grocery store in Layton, only in the neighboring towns. There is only 1 restaurant in Layton, and it was close while we were there.
“nice hotel in the Keys!”
very nice, laid back, super clean hotel in the classic Florida Keys' style. Large rooms all facing the water from where you can see beautiful sunsets. Pool has been recently renovated, small but cute. Bbq's everywhere so you can do your own grilling! Convenient location midway between Key Largo and Key West. Don't expect a fancy resort and a lively neighborhood (I saw some reviews that were complaining about this!): you are in the Keys, and if you want fancy go ahead and spend $600! and don't complain if there are no restaurants or bars at walking distance: again this is why you go to the Keys! Enjoy the nature, the sunset, swim, go on a kayak, relax: this hotel is the perfect place!
“Hidden Gem of the Keys”
This hotel is located half way between Islamorada and Marathon. If you're looking for a pampering resort this is NOT the place for you! However, if you're looking for a relaxing place to lay your head then this is the spot for you. This hotel is definitely no frills, but you can't beat the peacefulness of waking up each morning and seeing the ocean less than a hundred feet outside of your window. The staff is friendly and the management maximized comfort by placing hammocks and chaise lounges through out the complex. It is a little out of the way, so be forewarned this place is for those who want to relax and get away, not shop and enjoy the nightlife. But if your looking for amazing sunsets and beautiful star lit nights this is an excellent choice.
“Can"t beat it for the money”
The rooms were very nice and clean . The only thing is you have lug your luggage up the stairs. And after a long day of travelling with heavy luggage, it was tough.
“Very Nice Hotel”
Pleasantly surprised, what a nice little hotel despite it was being renovated.
