“Great place if you're not looking for fancy”

Lookout lodge has an excellent location and made the best they could out of a small piece of land just by the water on Islamorada. The staff's very friendly, they offer coffee and help out with things you want to do. The hotel rooms are fine, a bit old in style perhaps but everything works well and you have your own kitchen. The fridge is a bit noisy (turn it down at night) and so is the highway, but then on the keys most places are near the highway. The little beach is nice and relaxing, you don't have to go anywhere to enjoy the sunset. You can bring your own drinks and use the barbecues to cook dinner - very laidback attitude that is relaxing, noone forcing you to buy from the bar because there is none. If you do want the bar, go to the full service bar at the next-door beach of the Marker 88 restaurant 100 feet away.

The staff was pleasant and accommodating. The hotel is older, but in good repair. The location is excellent. The private beach is superb.

not the fanciest place ever, but the rooms are comfortable and clean. The beds are memory foam. A great little place for a short stay.

The staff were all very friendly and helpful. the grounds with the large waterfront patio and picnic tables, etc very nice. There is a very good restaurant/bar next door. The suite itself was disappointing. The furniture and matresses all appeared to be old. The bedding linnens were also old. Some sprucing up of the interiors would raise my ratings.

The grounds are very nice and there is plenty of space to eat a meal prepared in your kitchenette, enjoy a drink, and watch the sunset. However, when you go into the room, the disappointment begins. Although the room was so clean we could smell the cleaning products, the "island" decor is just very dated curtains and bedspreads. The mattresses were brand new and comfortable, but the sheets and pillowcases were old and mismatched. The kitchen is well equipped with mismatched dishes and chipped mugs. The bathroom was about the smallest I have ever seen in a hotel. There was so little space we had difficulty finding room for two suitcases. For the price, the room was comfortable but unattractive. Redecorating is needed! Our real problem was the noise.The walls were so thin we could hear our neighbor snoring the first night. The second night we heard every word the college boys said until 1 a.m. There is no one on duty that late to call for help. We were so tired, we checked out the next day with no refund for the third night.
