“Relaxing and pleasant hotel”
The hotel was nice in a good location. The staff was courteous, specially in the "Grill" restaurant at breakfast time. It is a good looking place especially for those who may come to do some water sport activities. The only down side was that our room was not cleaned one day. We were our of the room for 5-6 hours during the morning through the 3:30, and it did not get cleaned.
“very nice hotel”
hotel was very nice. Room was clean & comfortable. Beach and pool were nice. Restaurant (Gus's Grill) had a beautiful view, food was good. rates 4.5 /5 Front desk staff were very nice and helpful .
“Great option in key largo”
Recommend that the hotel put screens on the patio doors.
“Most beautiful place I've stayed in the Keys”
Hotel was exactly as described on websites but the hotel and satisfied travelers. Beach was perfect, pool bar was great, dive shop and marina to go on excursions right on the grounds, all meals at Gus's and room service and Breezers at hotel were delicious and well arranged. Drive to other keys was easy from location. We spent some time in Islamorada fishing and did great! Hotel staff was courteous and changed room to a preferrred location when we asked. Right on the waterfront! We woke up in the morning to dolphins playing in the sound and beautiful sailboats as a backdrop moored in front of the hotel. I've beem from Alaska to Key West and lots of places in between and I can tell you right now this is one of the nicest most tranquil places I've stayed. I'd recommend to anyone!!!
“Will return”
Staff was friendly and helpful. Food was good. Amenities were good. Handicap accessible. Location was fantastic.
“Average Hotel”
Overall, this is an average hotel. The pool is smallish and the same is true for the 'beach'. The Keys are not ideal for swimming - mostly weeds, algae, swamps, etc. Because my 2 kids are young (6 and 9 yo), the calm sea is great for them and only with water shoes on. The grounds are tidy and clean and great sunset view. The building was like the 70s and so was the music. We spent 4 nights here. There is not much to do in Key Largo if you're NOT into sailing, diving and snorkelling. Food is good though. We chose key Largo over Key West because we were flying off Miami Airport and Key West to Key Largo is a good 2 hours drive one way. It's about 99 miles but most on Hwy 1 is one lane each way with a 45 MPH speed limit and heavily patrolled. I would try Hilton the next time or bite the 2-hour drive and stay in Key West.
“Great Location”
If you're staying in Key Largo, this hotel rates high as far as amenities and location. Check-in was smooth and the staff was helpful and pleasant (even with the hectic situation of July 4th weekend). The room was well kept and had a balcony overlooking the gulf with 2 chairs and a small table. The Marriot hosts a popular fireworks show out in the water and the balcony gave us a perfect view. There was a mini-fridge in the room which we packed with breakfast and lunch material (there's a Publix grocery a mile down the road)and then went out for a nice dinner. In addition to the on-site restuarants, there are multiple fun places within a 5 minute walk, plus a few more within a 5 minute drive. The pool area was enjoyable, plenty of beach chairs and a tiki bar to quench your thirst. The beach area is a little small although well maintained. Its not really a swimming kind of beach (seaweedy), more of a pull your chair up to the water, and soak your feet kind of beach. We enjoyed happy hours at Breezer's Tiki Bar. Great specials and live island music for your entertainment. The snorkeling is fantastic in Key Largo. John Pennekamp state park is a mile away with a nice tour pacakage for 1 dive location. Also on-site at the Marriot there's a dive company that takes you to 2 locations. Loved them both. All in all, a very enjoyable hotel experience. Its family oriented, so if you don't mind children acting like fools occasionally, then its highly recommended.
“Not impressed”
The beach area was horrible. It was horrible. We had to travel to find a beach area to swim. The pool area was not impressive at all. There was no water pressure in the shower and was not much better when they fixed it. The parking area was really small, so it was hard to find a parking spot after we got back to the motel after going to find a better beach. We were really disappointed with this motel and very surprised from a Marriott.
“Key Largo Trip”
My family enjoyed our recent vacation. The hotel was really nice. Very clean. Only one complaint-- the room was advertised as 2 queen sized beds, but these were more like double beds not queens.
“Some Deferred maintenance”
Very nice hotel for the Keys, but is in need of some maintenance. The pool areas shows signs of wear, but the room was very clean and the location and price were right. Also, there is a diving boat that leaves right from the hotel that is really convenient.
