“Pleasent stay”
Old Key West house transformed into a pleasent boutique hotel. Very helpful staff at front desk.Very good location in the proximity of Duval, Butterfly Museum and Hemingway House.
“HOW RELAXING”
A terrific quaint little place with very friendly staff and a really nice salt water pool/spa! We really enjoyed our stay and would love to go back again. Just a short walk to Duvall St. Be sure to ask for one of the Larger rooms... the small ones are really quite small!
“The Perfect Get-Away”
The free breakfast was great and we loved that it was open until 10:30, so we could sleep in and then eat! The rooms were very clean and the bed was comfortable. We thought the location was great because we were able to walk everywhere we needed to go. The saltwater pool was refreshing and the bubbles made it feel like a large hot tub without the heat. The front porches were nice to sit on and relax and it was very quiet around the hotel. We will definitely stay here again.
“Loved it!”
We stayed in a queen room for 2 days and didn't want to leave! Room was clean and elegant, recently renovated. AC units are new and not too noisy. Bed linen and towels are spotless, everything smells fresh and clean. Instead of a swimming pool, the Merlin has a heated pool with salt water -- we loved the bubble bath! Spa towels are provided by the hotel. The pool deck area is nice to hang out and relax. Duval is one block away, location is convenient to all attractions and activities in Old Town. Continental breakfast is comparable to what you would get at most chain hotels (which are a lot more expensive, remember this is Key West). I liked the healthy options: good cereal, low fat yogurth, fresh apples. All in all it is a great deal for a very low price compared to most inns in Old City. Loved it!!!
“Wonderful, charming guesthouse with top-notch customer service”
Great place to stay. Walking distance from all of the main attractions, like Duval street. The people next to use were noisy one night, but management responded within three minutes of my late-night cal. Breakfast buffet was generous and fresh and served on a beautiful patio by the hot tub. Front desk attendants were always helpful and willing to give us directions and restaurant recommendations. Room was small, but sufficient. We didn't spend much time there, anyway. Overall - great stay. I would definitely go back, especially for the price.
“Wonderful retreat”
We bicycled down the Keys, ending our trip in Key West. Kenneth, the manager, welcomed us warmly and had no problems with our storing our (expensive) bikes in our room. While small, the room was spotless and the bed comfy. A shared back porch with a hammock, a few chickens (common there) and cats, lots of trees and bushes, shaded pool with chairs and lounges made hanging out pleasant. Nice breakfast included, though no eggs or meat. The Inn is just one block off Duval, so everything is easy to get to. Highly recommend.
“Pet the Cat”
We had a lovely two night stay and enjoyed the ambiance, charm and character of the Merlin Guesthouse. We would definitely stay there again! Tim & Nondis
“Will certainly return”
An excellent hotel, walkable to all the old town sites, nice staff, lovely room, continental breakfast by the pool. Note that it's a large spa pool, so not big enough to swim. Good restaurants within 3 or 4 blocks walk.
“Great Location”
Hotel was located a block off Duval St which made it very accessible and within walking distance to everything. Very helpful staff, a nice continental breakfast every morning on patio, and wonderfully landscaped gardens surrounding the place. The only complaint I would have is the noise. You could hear the people next door having a conversation and the traffic could get quite loud. For our purposes on this vacation (all the downtown action), we were rarely in our room so this did not pose a problem. If you prefer a quiet, peaceful vacation I would not recommend it.
“Merlin House, Key West”
Staff...Kenneth...was very helpful and had time for any questions. Hotel is close to many of the great sites to see and great restaurants are within walking distance. Never had to move our car.
