Staff was EXCELLENT!Posted Feb 27, 2015
Pros: Staff - Location and the decor. I also liked the fact that you had to be 25 or older to stay.
Cons: Pillows are too thick. Perhaps offer various sizes.
Location: Loved it was closed but especially loved being by the pool/bar and feeling like you were a million miles from the hustle & bustle!
Shawn greeted me by name as I walked through the door - just like an old friend! Alex in the bar area is absolute asset and we really enjoyed talking with him! All staff including the wonderful ladies who put out the amazing breakfast spread and Kim who checked us out! I will definitely be back to stay at this facility. The location is ideal. I was very happy to have found a room after waiting on the bridge due to an accident. However, the pillows are MUCH too thick. I might suggest that you have a mix of sizes - maybe 1 thin and 1 medium. I actually didn't sleep very well due to the pillow and woke up with the worst sore neck. The only thing would be that I would request a room near the pool on the interior. The roosters started at 5 am and there was a lot of traffic/noise on Duval Street. We were in 102. The room was beautifully decorated, as was the hotel. The artwork and flowers - just gorgeous! Like I said, the customer service is OUTSTANDING! That is something that I look for and I will definitely return to this quaint little hide-a-way that packs a big punch for its beauty and charm!

tiny room, no storagePosted Feb 22, 2015
Pros: The bed was comfortable and the front desk pople were helpful. The location was good.
Cons: The queen size room was very, very small. There was no where to sit and no drawers for your clothing. Not very comfortable at all.
Location: The location was central and you could walk to many sights and restaurants.
A nice little redone 50's motel with a small pretty pool area. Good location, just ok buffet in morning. Room was very uncomfortable because it was so tiny and had no storage for our clothes other than a tiny closet.

Great hotel in great locationPosted Feb 14, 2015
Pros: We liked everything about this hotel. Trudy at the front desk gave us some fantastic insider tips for a great holiday in Key West.
Cons: The hotel was perfect.
Location: We ate the best food of our holiday at nearby restaurant 915 Duval. I recommend both the Hemingway and Truman houses and a sunset sail on Jolly Rover.
We stayed at Orchid Key Inn for 5 nights. We were in a kingsize double room by the pool. The room was beautifully appointed with ample storage space for us to be able to unpack our suitcases. It was equipped with an electric iron, coffee maker, microwave and fridge, the en-suite bathroom had a fantastic shower and parking was available on site for a small charge. Breakfasts were included and were served from the small pool bar by the attractive courtyard pool and eaten either outside the pool bar or poolside. Every guest is also given a voucher for a free drink for each day of their stay. The pool bar was fab - it served a great selection of drinks and was a friendly place to dawdle before or after going out. The staff were all super-friendly, helpful and very efficient. The hotel location was excellent, very central. Easy to find when driving into Key West (right on the junction of Highway 1 and Duval) but in a quiet spot near great restaurants, shops and bars and more or less equidistant between Key West ocean side and Mallory Square and the harbour front.

Charming, elegant hotelPosted Feb 11, 2015
Location: Is at the center of Duvall St, where all the action is, especially night life there. Easy to get to all the well-known attractions in old town.
Loved everything about this vintage motel renovated into a first-rate oasis in the heart of Key West. Gorgeous rooms, comfortable bed, elegant bar with happy hour and beautiful breakfast. Could just stay there and not venture out because of lush vegetation, fountains that drowned the street noise, and peaceful setting. Will go there again.

great locationPosted Feb 4, 2015
Location: probably the best location in Key west, on Duval street with walking distance from restaurants and the park beach. The room: We were in the Deluxe room and it was worth every penny, comfy bed, clean sheets and good shower. The robe blew my mind. that was the most cozy robe I know! (very helpful when you have no luggage with you) Bar was nice, we got 4 complimentary drinks from the hotel. We were slightly surprised learning that the hotel lobby is closed every day at 10PM and resumes in the morning, so if you have whims at night, you might need to leave them until the day after. Over all - Excellent, Highly recommended.

great hotel good locationPosted Dec 28, 2014
great hotel well located at quiet end of Duvall but easy walk into main hub. Staff very friendly and helpful and nice pool and bar, which is also used by locals not just visitors. Been to keys several times and stayed nearer to busy end of Duvall but had not really done this end but it is a must as nice art galleries wine bars and easy walk to beach which has a great bar.

Great location just ok hotelPosted Dec 15, 2014
Stayed here last weekend overall we had a nice time. A couple of things could be improved. The rooms are small although nicely equipted. I missed having a comfortable chair to sit and relax in besides the stool that is provided. Our room was across from jacuzzi and it was noisy. One couple was in it for hours drinking and talking very loudly and ignoring the 15 minute limit. The sink bowl in the bathroom was cracked. The staff especially one woman working the bar during the day tried to be funny with her responses to our needs but came off as rude. For example I asked her to cut a lime we had and she acted like she was doing us a big favor and hinted I could make it up to her with a tip. At 370 dollars a night i just was expecting more professionalism. The front desk however could not have been nicer. We would probably look for another place to stay next visit perhaps rent a vacation home.
