Clean, modern, good location.Posted May 11, 2015
I was a bit suspect when I drove up to the property because it was somewhat difficult to identify and there was a closed sign on the restaurant door, but my concerns were eased when I met a very friendly person at check in, found out about all of the little extras they do for guests, and saw the property. It turned out to be a terrific place for my wife, son, daughter-in-law, and me to stay in Key West.

Simple Luxury in Key West Old TownPosted May 11, 2015
Pros: Lovely, contemporary two-room suite, with common kitchen living area.
Cons: Front desk often staffed by just one person and so there's often a wait to speak
Location: Nice, quiet location near Key West's (and the U.S.A.'s) southernmost point.
The Santa Maria Suites is a lovely, down to earth property near the U.S.'s "southernmost" point. It's convenient to everything despite being on the opposite end of town from the marina and away from the boisterous action on Duval. Clean, contemporary design, a well-supplied kitchenette and comfortable living area was perfect for our two families with kids for a long weekend. Nice free-form pool, free pina coladas in afternoon poolside, helpful service and great location make this a winner. The Japanese restaurant on site was pretty good too, a definite cut above your average sushi place these days.

Pros: We liked the small boutique-style hotel, which made the service feel personal.
We had a great time and will stay here on a return trip. The staff is very helpful and friendly.

Booked hotel online because had a bathtub plusPosted May 4, 2015
Pros: The fact they offer a bathtub...many of the places do NOT have tubs.
Cons: Not that I could think of...
Location: Great location easy access to many areas.
2 Women attending a wedding shared the 2 bedroom unit. It was nice to have the bathroom area separate and of course the spacious rooms. The Santa Maria exceeded our expectations. Several other guest shared rooms around town but none compared to all of the amenities offered at the Santa Maria. My only regret was I would have loved to have spent more time...

Santa Maria Sweets with two small childrenPosted Apr 28, 2015
Pros: Loved the location. Easy walking distance to the quiet end of Duval Street.
Cons: I think the struggle between kid lovers and kid haters is unavoidable unless the resort becomes adults only.
Location: The butterfly pavilion is just down the street and it is a must see.
We spent three nights at Santa Maria suites from Monday April 20 - Thursday April 23. We traveled with two small children ages 23 months and 5. The vibe of the resort is somewhat dictated by which group has more people staying at the property (families with kids or parents/grandparents on vacations without kids vs. non-kid lovers). We happened to hit a week that was spring break for our family and several others which helped tilt the majority into the kids favor. The property is amazing and the "free" amenities are to die for. By the end of our stay none of us could eat another muffin, smoothie, Dove bar or chocolate. The unit was designed to maximize space, meaning everything is fit in there like a jigsaw puzzle. This design likely isn't ideal if you are a larger person who needs room to move around. There are a fair number of sharp edges as well. During the night I went to get a bottle for my daughter and upon return to the bedroom, hit my upper shin on a corner of the platform bed. The unit has everything that a family needs including washer/dryer and a dishwasher. The refrigerator in our unit were two pull our drawers that worked fine but would be hard to keep too much food in there. Almost every single unit overlooks the pool. We loved having a second floor unit with safely enclosed balconies. That way our youngest could look at the pool without risk that she could access it. There is a great take out burrito joint up the street.

Very nice hotelPosted Apr 26, 2015
Pros: So very clean and a great staff.
Cons: The pool decking. It is too slippery.
Location: Great location. Beach and Butterfly Garden only a block away. A handy convenience store is across the street. It is a bit of a walk to Mallory.
This was a very nice hotel. It is very close to the beach, in a fairly quiet location, and convenient to the town. The hotel rooms are very clean and modern. We had a two bedroom suite which was quite roomy with a very large kitchen area. The A/C was great. The staff was wonderful and very helpful. Only down side was while pools were nice and clean, the tile pool decking was very slippery. You must be very careful not to slip and fall. The pool bar area while small was very clean and family oriented. There are delicious refreshing smoothies and nice wine and chips in the afternoon. The cucumber water was soooo good. Other than that we really enjoyed this establishment and would stay there again.

Key West VacationPosted Apr 26, 2015
Pros: Hotel was great. The 2 bedrooms under one roof was what we were looking for and was not disappointed
Cons: Nothing. Everything was perfect
Location: Watched the sunrise on the east and then walked to the other end of the island for sun set at Mallory Square.
Had a wonderful time enjoying the fresh seafood and sights.

BeautifulPosted Apr 11, 2015
A lovely hotel with a great courtyard pool and beautiful villas. Obviously a little off the center of the action but old key west is pretty walkable so not a problem. Highly recommended.

A great place to stay in Key WestPosted Mar 24, 2015
Pros: great place to stay with a family. At then end of Duval, so it's usually relaxing and quiet until a motorcycle goes down the street.
Cons: It is generally pretty quiet, but you can hear loud road noises. It would be nice if one of the pools was a few degrees cooler.
Location: Just get a bike and enjoy Key West. Snorkel, swim and relax.
My third or fourth stay and I'll be back again. I highly recommend it.
