“Quiet and Relaxing”

We were very pleased with the resort. It is a small resort but very friendly, clean and quiet. The overall condition is in need of some repairs and upgrading but that seems to be like a "theme" down there. When we go back to the keys we have every intention of booking at the SeaShell Beach Resort again.

“Low Key and Lovely”

We wanted a quiet place on the water and near Hawk's Cay Resort where friends were staying. This fit the bill perfectly. Nice breeze on the "beach" - lots of lounge chairs, hammocks, etc. This is not a swimming beach so a pool would be swell; since we had access to the Hawk's Cay ammenities, we didn't miss it. We loved the view, the room was clean and quiet. Great location to Marathon, Key Colony Beach, etc.

The resort was clean and well kept and surrounded by unspoiled, natural and breathtaking beauty. A real gem. If you want to know what heaven probably looks like, this is it. The couple who run the hotel (who are probably the owners) were terrific in every way, accomadating and helpful. We were only there one night, but we plan to return and stay much longer.

“A decent place to sleep; right on the baech”

The hotel was older and the room small, but it was right on the beach and offered beautiful views. Being on Marathon Island, it was close to many attractions and points of interest. If you are just looking for a place to sleep, with not many amenities, this place fits the bill.

“Will definately GO BACK!..”

We checked in on Friday afternoon for a weekend getaway. We had a great room (#5). It was a short walk down a private dock and a few steps into the ankle to waist deep water. Shopping and restaurants were very convenient. The rooms location was away from the road so traffic noise was non-existant. The sunsets and sunrises were beautiful. We even made a new friend, a little cat that would sit with us at night as we watched the sun go down. The price was good and the area was very clean. I would have no hesitation about going back to the Seashell the next time I decided to make the 4 hour drive down. It was worth the trip.

“Quaint little hotel”

Stayed in August, 2011...This is no luxurious resort, but very cute and quaint. Very nice staff. I stayed in their smallest room, double bed with "side" view of ocean. I was very happy with the view, not really a side view. Standing in the doorway , you can see the ocean, dock, trees and it is a lovely view. You also have this view from the window. The room is very small, just a mini fridge, small table/chairs, dresser, TV and bed. The room could have been cleaner and needs a little updating. There is the man made beach and you can access the water from both docks, but not any shoreline to walk on. There is a lot of seaweed and some debris in the seaweed and a bit of a smell when you are near all the seaweed, but it just smells like ocean. I spent a lot of time on the docks and it was not bad AT ALL. Overall, loved the location, north of the business district, but anywhere is a drive, which is fine with me! I think a lot of the negative reviews are coming from folks who assume this is some kind of Hilton resort rather than the Keysey place that it is, but I also did not visit the other rooms. Would definitely come back... not into the luxurious, crowded places like in Key West.

“Very Tranquil picture postcard location”

Very pleased with our visit. If you want a quiet peaceful place to stay this was it. Location was beautiful. Only 10 rooms so very private. I will be going back again..

“A Place to Stay”

We loved our week at Seashell Beach Resort. We had everything we needed for our stay. Our room had a beautiful view of the Atlantic and was very comfortable.

“Great place to relax!”

Had 5 night stay in April 2012 with family of 5. Found staff friendly and helpful. Rooms were clean and comfortable; kitchenette well stocked with utensils and necessities; all appliances worked; each bedroom had huge, fairly comfortable bed with own window a/c unit which kept us cool without a problem; no problems with towels/supplies from housekeeping. Yes the bathroom vanity cabinet was worn and dated, and bedside nightstands were wicker, but everything was clean and functional. Now, lightbulbs were another issue: one ceiling fan was fine, the second had 1 of 3 bulbs out, and the third had 3 of 4 out. Walls/ceilings were in good shape and nicely painted. Tile throughout--a couple of tiles had crackes in them, but so do mine at home--not broken or missing or safety issue. Large walk-in tiled shower which was spotless; also no problem getting hot water! Grounds were very large--had room for family to play volleyball and not disturb others. No problem finding a chair, lounger, or hammock; good balance of sunny and shaded spots. plenty of parking. Docks were wonderful to have--good place to relax and watch surises and sunsets as well as boats throughout the day. Saw fish and birds(of course), but also horseshoe crabs and stingrays at various times. Definetly NOT a swimminng beach--hit the state parks for that. And the smell that some people complain about is normal ocean/beach smell at low tide--nothing that kept us inside or from cooking out and eating outside.
