Sombrero resort?

Posted Mar 27, 2015
Pros: Location
Cons: Clean and maintain rooms!
Location: Close to beach. Nice bike path. Good restaurants.
Only got clean towels 1 day out of 3. Sink faucet broken, so no hot water. No wifi in our section of hotel. Outside light didn't work, couldn't see to unlock door. Tile floor in room was very dirty.

. Late Check-in.

Posted Mar 26, 2015
Pros: Location
Very accommodating with a very late check-in due to a traffic accident coming from the Keys. No extra sheets for pull out couch and a very poorly equipped kitchen. Much older building than expected. Beautiful location!!!!!

good location but substandard comfort

Posted Mar 24, 2015
Pros: Very good location with pool for the kids and tiki bar
Cons: not enough bedding; only felt like sheets were clean but not blankets/bedspread; 4 really bad pillows for 4 people
Location: marina and close to all needed shopping and restaurants just off main highway
just for a one night stay on a spring break weekend (we live a few hours away) may would try again and bring own bedding, but do not feel like I should have to for almost $300 per night!!! bathroom ok with some toiletries provided; has kitchenette if you are staying longer

Expensive, but probably not for the Florida Keys

Posted Mar 21, 2015
Wifi did NOT work in the hotell room, but worked well in lobby and at the pool. Free parking. The room was perfectly fine to me (incl. TV, fridge, but no microwave). Few available wall sockets, including at the one table in the room. The outside is a little bit scrappy. Nice "marina" behind the houses though. I chose and booked this hotel (two days before the stay) for being the hotel that seemed to be the best compromise between being close to Key West and not being outrageously expensive. Normally I would expect a lower price but I suppose there are few hotels close to Key West.

For what we paid the room was from the 70s. Very dated. Our room was the farthest from the lobby and I requested close to the elevator because my husband had walking issues and they changed the room after we arrived. Not worth the money. Disappointed with Expedia.

Disappointing for the price

Posted Mar 16, 2015
Cons: TV didn't work right, A/C units were loud, accommodations very run down, towels were ripped
Expected more for the price. Very old facility - rooms and amenities revealed that. TVs were old - didn't work correctly. Had window A/C units that were very loud. Refrigerator had rust on the front - towels were torn.

Worst place to stay!!

Posted Mar 14, 2015
I had gone here with my wife around 8pm, both of us were really tired by the time we reached here and wanted to take rest & had plan to wake up at 4am as we were tight on our trip schedule. But things were really worst here. We asked the way to the room to receptionist. She asked us to park our car and go by walk and showed the way. We walked for really long time and we were struggling to get the room. Dint get proper support to find the room from receptionist. She asked us to park the vehicle far even though there was parking place just opposite to our room. Finally we found the room entered & tried switching on the light. Light was not getting switched on. Then called hotel/resort people. After some time one person came and said "these are new rooms, so there is some problem with sockets, they are actually under the carpentry work done. Same was the case with other rooms here. I fixed them few days back". I was really shocked by the response. How can some body keep light without plugging it to socket?? How can they do carpentry work on top of the socket?? If this was seen with other rooms too, that too few days back then why dint they fix it in our room?? Okay, they haven't fixed. But why did they give such room to us?? Then that guy took our precious time, fixed light problem and left. Then I went to the bathroom. So called newly constructed room's bathroom paper hanging thing was broken so papers were kept far from the commode. Room was noisy too.

Pros: Proximity to good scuba diving.
Cons: Room decor could be updated, furniture was very worn.
Location: Nearby scuba diving and good restaurants. Easy access to water activities.
This hotel was adequate but nothing to write home about. The decor was a bit shabby and had seen a lot of use. It met our needs but we probably won't book here again.
