Pros: The location
Cons: Some paint and proper repairs would improve the hotel considerably.
While the employees were nice the hotel itself needs quite a bit of work, the repairs that have been done are cheap and it's obvious quick fixes have been made. The pools were dirty and one was green and unusable. The pictures on the Internet don't reflect the reality. The beach is not really for swimming.

Stay in Marathon at Yellow Tail Inn

Posted Jun 12, 2014
Room smelled musty, moldy,. No sheets for sleeper couch, tho we called ahead, and said we were going to use one. Sewar backed up whenever anyone flushed the toilet. Then the shower burped constantly and the place smelled like swear.

A mini escape

Posted Apr 30, 2014 on Hotels.com
I think this place is exactly what it's good for... a mini escape for a few days to enjoy the water through kayaking or paddle boarding, showering and leaving at night to the local restaurants. Do not come here with hope that you are going to utilize the "kitchen" or be in the room for long periods of time. I definitely loved that I got a Keys vibe while staying, I loved the people that worked there, I loved the location this place is not bad at all... just keep in mind you're not there to be in the room the whole time. At night if you sit on the dock or lay on one of the chairs, you can look up and see every star in the sky... I will definitely come back to stay in fact I can't wait!

It was nice, beautiful private beach and views

It was nice, beautiful private beach and views. The curtains in each room feel and hit me in the head cause they weren't secured. The room seemed a little over priced. It wasn't a bad experience though. The staff was nice and view was amazing that's all that mattered really.

Yellowtail inn

Stayed in an oceanfront efficiency. It had a patio out front with a great view. The effiency however, needed to be revamped. The room also needed to be cleaned more thoroughly. We were supplied with only a half roll of toilet paper and a small bar of soap. It would of been nice to have been given a little more since the room plus the hotel service charge came out to around $250 a night. The towels and linens are old and need to be replaced. And one of the air conditioners in the bedroom wouldn't turn on. But we did see a truck unloading new air conditioners after we arrived. All in all, the place has a lot potential. It is in a great area and the view is nice but it needs to be cleaned and revamped ASAP! By the way, the hotels.com description is misleading. There is no bathtub or down comforter in the room and don't overlook the $13 service fee you have to pay when you arrive.

Shower curtain and floor molding in bathroom had mildew or mold on them. The entry curtain had insect holes in them.

A dump

Posted Apr 28, 2014
Pros: I didn't
Cons: Cleanliness, service
Location: Location is okay. Dolphin Research center right down the road, fishing. If you want beach, go somewhere else.
I will never go back. Room small & shabby, maid service non existent ( just drops towels and leaves her open soda in room, beds not made, leaves your door unlocked on when she leaves). Stuff dropped under bed by previous tenants stayed there. Issues w/A/C.

its a hotel on the beach- that is about it

Posted Apr 15, 2014
Pros: Sunrise-
Cons: Clean it up! take some pride in the property- the site is beautiful.
Location: State parks with beautiful beaches, kayaking, paddle board, fishing. Good restaurants 10 minutes away.
Had I not prepaid I would have checked out after day 1. Old is one thing, old and un-clean another. Kitchen was clean- fairly decent newer cabinets, refrigerator had large puddle which we found to be a leak in the freezer, soaking some food- a large pan corrected that. bathroom was awful- I used bleach to clean the shower to be sure it was clean- curtain had mold, tiles old and disgusting. the place needs some serious love and attention. Beach area was passable, retaining wall camouflaged the ever growing pile of litter that was never picked out of the tide line, sad.
