Located almost exactly half-way between Little Rock, Arkansas and Memphis, Tennessee, the Americas Best Value Inn is a charming two story, exterior corridor facility that offers 90 spacious guest-rooms. We serve a fresh complimentary deluxe continental breakfast daily. All our guest-rooms have complimentary hi-speed wireless Internet, in-room coffeemakers, cable television with HBO, iron with ironing boards, hairdryers, and complimentary local calls. For our business travelers we offer fax and copy facilities. For additional safety we have electronic door locks, smoke detectors, superior exterior lighting, and a 24-hour front desk staff. Founded during the construction of the first railroad across Arkansas, and named for one of the builders -Hugh Brinkley-, the town eventually became a crossroads and a center of commerce by the 1880s. Brinkley honors its rail history with a beautifully restored 1912 Central Delta Depot Museum and Visitors Center in the downtown district. Antique and gift shops, plus travel accommodations are available. Fargo Agricultural School Museum, just north of Brinkley, preserves items from an early 20th century African-American school started by Floyd Brown of the Tuskegee Institute. Outdoor adventures are close by, including Marion McCollum/Greenlee Lake. Operated by the Arkansas Game and Fish Commission, the 300-acre lake has two barrier-free fishing piers, two boat docks/launches and plenty of blue gill, bass and channel catfish. The region also boasts great waterfowl hunting in nearby public management areas. Brinkley is also near the Louisiana Purchase State Park. Brinkley is located near the Cache River National Wildlife Refuge, where in February 2004 the ivory-billed woodpecker was purportedly rediscovered after having thought to be extinct for over 60 years. Brinkley has attempted to capitalize on its good fortune of being the largest city near the Refuge and the rediscovery of the woodpecker. Hide
