Dated and old rooms.I

Posted May 4, 2015
We were in Fort Collins for an event and wanted to stay close to venue I chose Red Lion because it's proximity to interstate and beautiful exterior. The lobby is nice. The rooms are not very dated not clean. We usually stay at Embasy, however I didn't want to drive the distance after a long day.

OK place for a night.

Posted May 4, 2015
Pros: Clean room, comfortable bed, reasonable price.
Cons: More parking! Tiny breakfast room.
Not enough parking! We came back late in the evening to find absolutely NO place to park. Room was clean, but they aren't great on the details - missing bedcover, missing pillow. First room we went into smelled of smoke, but staff immediately apologized and changed our room.

Ok place

The card reader was difficult and sometimes a pain to get in. First day found unfinished tea cups in room. No shampoo etc. Next day house keeping showed up. I 25 road noise on 3rd floor. For money the place worked, but don't have your hopes up for anything special

Check the linen first!

Posted Apr 20, 2015
Pros: Hotel was average condition, soiled carpets in halls and stairs and shotty repairs. Looks like it has gone thru a lipstick make over recently.
Cons: Customer service when a problem arises. Staff should be empowered enough to make a resolution...
Location: Location is adequate, a little difficult to get to due to the highway layout.
Check in was a little confusing... Both clerks were on the phone for about seven minutes and never looked up to acknowledge by existence. Finally one of the clerks acknowledged me and said it has been a rough day. The computer system was having problems and double booked rooms, guest were discovering that their room was occupied upon entering them. Later that evening when we turned down the sheets it was discovered that one of the beds was made up without a change of linen. The sheets had wrinkles and creases as if it had been slept in and there was hair and debris, yuck!!!. We attempted to call the front desk and found that there was no hotel information guide in the room or posted on the telephone. After contacting the front desk in person they did respond with a set of fresh linen to the room but only handed it off for us to change the bed. NO OFFER FROM THE HOTEL STAFF TO CHANGE ROOMS OR TO ASSIST IN CHANGING THE LINEN!!! The following morning I checked out in person at the front desk. I was asked how my stay was. I responded with the issues we had experienced. The only response I received from the clerk was “I’m sorry about that and that I was ready to go”… That’s it, I thought to myself, what a sincere response. I took that as a complete disregard to my experience and could care less, better luck next time!!! I asked if they had a manager on duty and was told they did not. But the clerk did provide me with the managers contact information If I wished to call.

Experience might depend on staff

Posted Apr 4, 2015
Pros: Location, price
Cons: Staff, sealing around the doors, noise control, new windows, new TV, upgraded towels, fixed air conditioner panel, basic toiletries, channel guide
The young lady who checked me in made it quite clear that she had other, more important and better things to do than attend to me. Rude, unprofessional, condescending, and insulting, she felt that chastising a tired, sick, and hard of hearing traveler was the appropriate thing to do when I asked her again how to connect to the Internet. The method she told me to use was not working, thus the further inquiry. She may have been showing off for her family that took over the entire downstairs, annoyed that I had interrupted their photo opportunities. A quick retort from me and I retreated to my room for some phone calls. The hotel itself was not horrible in terms of comfort or cleanliness. Attempts at upgrading appeared to have been abandoned mid-way through. There were a few things they didn't get to. Light seeped around the door reminding me of "Poltergeist". There was no TV/channel guide for my ancient TV. Towels were but a mere 2, scratchy, no washcloths, and no toiletries to be seen. The window was single pane glass that was in no way sealed. It would have been quieter to stay in my car in the Denny's parking lot next door. The rest of the hotel was also able to be heard, from hallway noise to adjacent (and perhaps not so adjacent) rooms -- I nearly commented to the gentleman next door about the quality of his stream. The morning staff was far more amiable than when I checked in. I do hope my connections with both Expedia and the corporate office are heeded.
