“disappointed”
The room seemed dirty, floor felt greasy. Furniture tattered. Continental breakfast fine--toast, cereal, yogurt. Location was AWESOME! Right on the beach, no one else around. Someone needs to buy these property and fix it up!
“Dissapointed”
We had been repeat guests of A little Inn with the previous owners. After a two year hiatus we decided to return, you just can't beat Lauderdale-by-the-Sea. From the moment we arrived I could feel a real disconnect between guests and hotel management. Parking was our first hurdle, not a single space was available. The usual rule of one car per room was obviously overlooked on the day of our arrival and no effort was made to seek out those guests with multiple cars. The rooms have been significantly improved, but the grounds leave little to be desired, dirty pool, worn patio furniture, crumbling staircases. The term "Bed and Breakfast" is a real stretch. White bread, bagels, bulk pack donuts alongside a tub of cream cheese and the jar of family size jelly from Publix. A little presentation could go a long way and make this pitiful spread seem like just a bit more. Making things fun was the lone four slot toaster that had only two working slots. One plus is that this hotel does provide beach lounges. Unfortunately guests aren't the best at bringing them in at night and the hotel makes no effort. This hampers the daily beach cleaning that is done by Lauderdale-by-the-Sea, and they do a great job! The day after the Fourth of July the beach is always a wreck. By lunchtime things were back to normal (except were lounges were left out overnight, the trash left adjacent to them stayed). Will we return to Lauderdale-by-the-Sea? Absolutely! A little Inn or Little Inn Too? Doubtful.
“Not what we expected for the price paid - Calgary, Canada”
My daughter and I came to South Florida for a school break vacation so we had to squeeze everything into one week. The day before we had toured the Kennedy Space Centre since it would not be open to the public on launch day. The next day we went to Titusville early and found a good spot to see the launch. After the launch there were thousands of vehicles trying to leave Titusville. We left just after 5PM and did not get to Lauderdale-by-the-Sea until 10:21 PM. By the time we located the Inn the manager had left for the day and someone else in another building was taking calls. Fortunately another guest was in my predicament and together we managed to get the keys and locate our rooms but with great difficulty. The Inn is actually 3 old apartment buildings at least 50 years old. We were in the farthest one from the office and later found out that we couldn't access the internet from our room since the wireless router in the office was not strong enough to provide service for our building. As the last guest we didn't have a choice of bed so my daughter and I shared a king bed. The room and bath was clean but dated. We did not take advantage of the great beach location since we had a day trip to Key West the next morning. We grossly over-paid for the value we got which was partly our own fault. Be aware that this is not a three-star hotel, two at best but if you want the beach, it is in easy reach from there. No late check-in and early check-out service. Will not be coming back.
“The most MISERABLE PLACE”
We strongly recommend that you NOT GO TO THIS HOTEL. We checked out 90 minutes after we checked in. The "king" room has a queen bed. No towels. No extra blankets. The bathroom was dirty. There was a smoke alarm that went off every 5 minutes. The walls themselves were paper thin. When the next room turned on the water - it sounded like a tsunami in our room (old pipes!). When the people next door sat on the (shared!!) porch, it sounded like they were sitting in our room (they were not loud). The phone did not work, so to talk to the manager on duty -- you had to walk down to find him. He was leaving at 630PM regardless of guests having no towels and blankets. When asked to call the management - he said the #s were in his phone and his phone was dead. When you park your car - you are asked to double park. And they can call you ANYTIME OF THE NIGHT if the other person needs to move their car. I spent 30-40 minutes in the office phone tagging with 3 different people. In that time there were numerous dissatisfied guests. Finally, we got approval from management to leave the premises with no charge. Even THEY understood the situation was not acceptable. Summary:This if the first time in my life that I have checked out of a hotel like this. Also - this is the first time in my life I have felt compelled to write a review. We drove down the road and found a Days Inn. For 1/2 the price we had a cleaner, quieter room and were happy there (so how high can our standards really be?!)
“Run down hotel in need of a good makeover”
The hotel is old and looks like is falling apart. Some of the rooms have been remodeld but fixtures still do not work (A/C old and noisy, fan broken, no hot water in shower, no flowing water in sink). Management not friendly and not answering the phone for evening or early morning requests. Location is very far away from F. Lauderdale famous beaches and restaurants area.
“Not Clean”
gave me their best room...literally on the beach. That was impressive. The furniture was new and nice, including tv and other appliances. but...the room was absolutely, positively not clean.
“'A Little bit of a Shambles Too'”
Firstly we love the area, Lauderdale by the Sea, and visit every year. and we knew the hotel from the outside, which looks nice and is directly on a fab uncrowded beach. But... the room has a mini kitchen in it but no wardrobe. We were booked on B&B but day one there was only some stale bread, cos 'donuts had been left in the freezer' following that, there was nothing to eat it with. so we did our own thing, promised a refund which did not happen. The pool was absolutely freezing so we could not really use it. The room was cleaned sporadically. The 'sunlounger canvas cusions' were left out in the rain. The 'management who were aware of all these problems but seemed incapable of dealing with anything. It is such a shame it should be a great resort and it is a total shambles.
