Desperately Needs a Fresh Coat of Paint ThroughoutPosted Jun 23, 2015
The hotel is cute and appears renovated when you walk in and roam ground level near the check- in and restaurants, but its in need of some new carpet and paint throughout, it looks dirty. The check in staff was AMAZING and eager to accommodate any concerns I had. Meline at the front desk was a delightful doll, she help us check in with ease and offered kindness, so did Richard. On our second night there our air conditioning broke in the middle of the HOT night, our room phone was broken and was never fixed the 2 nights we were in our room despite me communicating to 3 different people and lastly we ordered coffee in the morning that should have only taken 25 minutes to come as stated but took 45. They comped our coffee. Even though the second day I was upset we had to pack and move rooms, and my boyfriend was tired from a hot night of uneasy sleep Celicia did all she could to to try and make our transition to a top floor suit as smooth as possible! The suit was AMAZING! It appeared it was all up to date! Fresh paint, nice furniture, great ocean view! I travel regularly, if you're considering this hotel for your stay I'd take no less then their 6th floor suits! To end our visit we did walk out with a smile! All the staff were friendly and open to help us make it right!

Another great weekPosted Jun 22, 2015
Hotel is dated BUT the location and the staff are phenomenal. Everyone is polite and we got upgraded and late checkouts. Resort fee with parking and having to still rent an umbrella on the beach puts the price closer to other higher end hotels but we loved it

Just okay, not what I thoughtPosted Jun 17, 2015
The B OceanResort in 10... *Purpose for travel: to relax/refresh/visit friends *Traveled alone 1. This did not feel like a resort at all, more like a Labyrinth 2. I was greeting very nicely by staff and found them helpful 3. The pools were gorgeous and well kept! 4. Hotel Beach Bar and Room Service food sucked. I am ashamed to say I payed $5 for 8 oz. of milk. 5. The hotel rooms were.... blah 6. The beach area was very nice, along with beach chairs 7. It is in a good location for the ocean - however you do need to walk to get to the action. Not far, but I got sick and needed some things but did not feel like trekking out and was kinda stuck 8. The Wreck Bar looks fun, I didn't see the mermaids but that's what it is known for 9. This hotel is very close to a great water sports company for kayaking, paddle boarding, etc... 10. Fitness Center has no locker room

Way past it's primePosted Jun 17, 2015
Not a 5 star hotel. My feet got dirty just walking around the room. Did not enjoy the restaurant service was slow. Food just average. Only got to go to the Wreck bar once. It was hardly open week days. The one time we were there we had fun. Our bartender was helpful and friendly. It was a lot of money to stay there. I bought my own coffee machine. Once we had room service which was breakfast. Service good food not. I won't stay there again. One thing though just about all the employees were very friendly. The owners need to update the place and quit ripping off the masses.

Good Value For Money Beach HotelPosted Jun 15, 2015
Pros: The staff were the best feature. All of them being friendly and attentive.
Cons: Hopefully, all the bedrooms are going to be part of the major renovations.
Location: The location is right on the beach. "Jungle Queen:" dinner cruise 5 min walk away. Bahia Cabana Waterfront Lounge (recommended) across the road.
Parts of this hotel are under renovation or require renovating, that is, it is shabby in places. However, being only one of two Fort Lauderdale hotels which are actually located on the beach, and not across the road from the beach, the hotel provides good value for the money paid. The staff were fantastic. All of them being friendly and attentive. No problems whatsoever in getting extra room towels. I would certainly suggest staying here if you want a beach vacation but do not expect the Ritz Carlton or similar. As I said before, this hotel is good value for the price paid.
