I had a nice stay at the Beachcomber, but

Posted Jul 15, 2014
Pros: Location and Staff
Cons: Finish what was started and care for the beach.
Location: Fine dining all around and the beach is this Hotels greatest asset. Butterfly World and Miami is not far.
The pictures need to be updated. All the rooms have almost been updated. There is weird things like plumbing showing. Air conditioner is loud. Staff is nice. Only one Ice machine. Rules to restrict you. After a large party they charged the public for on the beach, they did not clean dangerous litter from the beach. Things that would kill the ocean life. I was told the county would clean up. They charged to get the beach and use their parking, and they did not clean up after the fire works and party people. Shame. I picked up some, plastic net bags and metal sparkler wires and other trash. Shame on you Beachcomber! My friends stay was warm and dirty. The room had bad air and dirty carpets. Oh Well!

Super nice hotel on the beach!

Posted Jul 13, 2014
This was a very nice hotel with the gorgeous surroundings. View from the balcony was gorgeous. Staff was very friendly and accommodating. Nestled among many other elegant places that charge for these amenities, the parking was free and the Wi-Fi was free. We felt luckier than other members of our party who stayed at another hotel. Beautiful restaurant, easy access to the ocean. Just what we wanted for our vacation!

Beautiful hotel with exceptional staff!

Posted Jul 12, 2014
My friend and I stayed at the beachcomber during the week. We're both in our late 20s and were looking for a nice relaxing getaway. This was obviously the best decision we've ever made! The staff was genuinely interested in making sure we had a great time. They gave us information on the best places to eat, best places to mingle, And the best excursions. The room was beautiful and well kept. We had an amazing view of the beach and pool. At night, They had live acoustic music that was very relaxing! This was an amazing experience and we'll definitely be back!

Wish I would have booked somewhere else

Posted Jul 11, 2014
Very old hotel, not updated. Room was smaller then my room at home. The hot water did not work. Drinks are over priced but really tastey and nice staff at the pool area. We did like the hammocks on the beach, nothing really to do around the hotel. More of a local spot. I left something in the room and called they said they would get back to me in 30min and never called back. Then when I called back they said they tried to reach me when I asked what number they tried the gave me the wrong phone number. We switched to the Hampton in and it was WAY nicer I wish we would have just stayed there the I tire time. In one word the beachcomber is "blah". It has potential but they missed the mark with us. I would hardly call it a resort.

Hidden Gem in Pompano Beach, we will be back!

Posted Jul 7, 2014
Pros: Good value, Great location on the Beach.
Cons: The charm of this property is that is is older and smaller than others.
Location: Small shopping center across the street has a bar, hair salon, laundry mat restaurant and mini-market. Talk about convenience.
Our family rented three (3) rooms for 4th of July weekend (July 3rd, 4th and 5th). This is an older, 140 room, non-flagged, family owned-operated Resort. It is on the beach, there is free parking for guests, a pool, 2 bars and 2 restaurant on the property. There is a small plaza across the street with laundry mat, mini-market, a sports bar and pizza place. The pride in ownership is evident throughout the property. The parking, check-in, front desk, guest room, pool, bar, restaurant and even the beach are excellent. This is Pompano not South Beach and for price they exceeded our expectations. By 9:00 am July 5th, the entire property, including the beach was immaculately cleaned, not a lot of flagged hotels can do that as 4th of July seldom goes smoothly , but these folks performed flawlessly. The entire staff was on point, courteous, timely and professional. We were seven (7) adults and each of us was impressed.

Hot and Filthy

Posted Jul 7, 2014
Pros: The staff and the pool areas
Cons: The A/C, bathrooms, filthy carpet, drink and menu prices.
Location: location is good
Room 109, A/C barely kept the room comfortable. The carpet was filthy. Our feet were black just from walking to the bathroom once from the bed. No coolers allowed on the beach is ridiculous. There drink and menu prices are too high. I am judging this by the hotel being full and hardly any one using the restaurant or the bar. The outside is beautiful. The pools are great. The staff outstanding. 143 rooms, one ice machine and it was out of order for two of the four days I was there. Don't pick this hotel by the pictures on line. The room pictures are old and do not depict the rooms as they are. The bathroom could have been cleaner and needed paint. The toilet did not flush properly nor did the sink drain properly. Do yourself a favor and choose a different hotel.

Nice hotel on the beah.

Posted Jun 28, 2014
Cons: A wall or screen between balconies.
I was pleasantly surprised as I had never been to the area. Obviously old but redone. Dining overlooking the ocean was pleasant. Food was good. Large beach with unbrellas, lounge chairs and cabanas for rent, or bring your own. The room was large with a not private balcony. The price was fair, for ocean view and king bed. a very comfortable chair with ottoman. I would go again.

Great Beach!

Posted Jun 26, 2014
Located right on the beautiful beach. We had a room on 5th floor with a great view of the ocean. Rooms are nice... Not anything to rave about though. They are older and have some signs of wear and tear. They are also quite noisy. We were able to hear the people next door and in the hallways. Other than that, we had a great stay! No need to spend that much time in the room with the beautiful beach so close!
