Hidden Gem in Pompano Beach, we will be back!Posted Jul 7, 2014
Pros: Good value, Great location on the Beach.
Cons: The charm of this property is that is is older and smaller than others.
Location: Small shopping center across the street has a bar, hair salon, laundry mat restaurant and mini-market. Talk about convenience.
Our family rented three (3) rooms for 4th of July weekend (July 3rd, 4th and 5th). This is an older, 140 room, non-flagged, family owned-operated Resort. It is on the beach, there is free parking for guests, a pool, 2 bars and 2 restaurant on the property. There is a small plaza across the street with laundry mat, mini-market, a sports bar and pizza place. The pride in ownership is evident throughout the property. The parking, check-in, front desk, guest room, pool, bar, restaurant and even the beach are excellent. This is Pompano not South Beach and for price they exceeded our expectations. By 9:00 am July 5th, the entire property, including the beach was immaculately cleaned, not a lot of flagged hotels can do that as 4th of July seldom goes smoothly , but these folks performed flawlessly. The entire staff was on point, courteous, timely and professional. We were seven (7) adults and each of us was impressed.

Hot and FilthyPosted Jul 7, 2014
Pros: The staff and the pool areas
Cons: The A/C, bathrooms, filthy carpet, drink and menu prices.
Location: location is good
Room 109, A/C barely kept the room comfortable. The carpet was filthy. Our feet were black just from walking to the bathroom once from the bed. No coolers allowed on the beach is ridiculous. There drink and menu prices are too high. I am judging this by the hotel being full and hardly any one using the restaurant or the bar. The outside is beautiful. The pools are great. The staff outstanding. 143 rooms, one ice machine and it was out of order for two of the four days I was there. Don't pick this hotel by the pictures on line. The room pictures are old and do not depict the rooms as they are. The bathroom could have been cleaner and needed paint. The toilet did not flush properly nor did the sink drain properly. Do yourself a favor and choose a different hotel.

Nice hotel on the beah.Posted Jun 28, 2014
Cons: A wall or screen between balconies.
I was pleasantly surprised as I had never been to the area. Obviously old but redone. Dining overlooking the ocean was pleasant. Food was good. Large beach with unbrellas, lounge chairs and cabanas for rent, or bring your own. The room was large with a not private balcony. The price was fair, for ocean view and king bed. a very comfortable chair with ottoman. I would go again.

Great Beach!Posted Jun 26, 2014
Located right on the beautiful beach. We had a room on 5th floor with a great view of the ocean. Rooms are nice... Not anything to rave about though. They are older and have some signs of wear and tear. They are also quite noisy. We were able to hear the people next door and in the hallways. Other than that, we had a great stay! No need to spend that much time in the room with the beautiful beach so close!

Pros: Location and bar staff!!
Cons: Rooms near elevator are horrible and extremely noisy!!
Location: Beach, beach beach!!
I've stayed here yearly over the past 10 years. Great location right on the beach plus nice pool area. You can eat outside with a view of the ocean. The best part is the bartender Steve!! He is the best of the best!!

Beach location was great.Posted Jun 20, 2014
Pros: Location, location, location. Lots of free parking available. Pretty grounds that were kept up nicely. On-site laundry facility was nice.
Cons: Update the room décor and get rid of the insects in the building, or at least keep up with regular spraying. Needs to have concierge service.
Location: Being located on A1A, you can drive up and down the coast, all the way to Miami (about 30 miles). Lots of nice restaurants along the way.
We were originally booked for 10 nights. Found room infested with flying bugs. We reported it to the front desk and the clerk said it was probably termites. They offered to spray the room or move us to another floor. We decided to leave early and checked out 2 days early. During our stay, we were shorted towels. The pool towels were thin and rough with holes. The room was well-used and had only one comfortable chair. The beds were comfortable (we had 2 queen beds). There was no concierge. When we asked about local points of interest, the desk clerk said they didn't know and handed us a few brochures they had on hand. Food was expensive at the hotel and not much variety. The pool was nice and the beach came right up to the pool area for easy access to the ocean. All in all, it was a fairly decent place to stay, but certainly needs some room upgrading. It's a bit shabby. The public areas were all clean and no carts, etc., in the halls.

It was "OK" in general.Posted Jun 17, 2014
Pros: Great view, large room.
Cons: The pool shop should be open on Saturday evenings later than it is.
Location: Beach, Beach, Beach.
The beachcomber is right on the beach in Pompano. We had an 8th floor room with a balcony that had a view of the beach and ocean. The room was large, had a fridge and microwave. In general, it was a somewhat dated interior and showed its wear and tear. The bathroom tub/shower had a funky faucet that would swing in a complete 360 degree turn and control the temp/water flow. The water pressure was good considering we were on the 8th floor of a 9 floor hotel. The only real oddness was the "towel" card bit. We arrived after 6PM and by the time we had dinner, the "pool shop" was closed and we had to go to the front desk to get towels for the pool. At check in, you have to initial and sign that the hotel can charge you $25 per towel at checkout for each towel card not returned. Since the pool shop was closed, we had to go down the next morning to exchange the towels for the cards to ensure we would not be charged. So, fair warning ... keep track of your towels! We did not eat at the hotel restaurant, it is a bit of a walk to any other restaurants other than the pizza joint across the street.
