vacation timePosted Mar 30, 2015
Pros: A great complimentary breakfast and they had on the premises a shuttle service to the port.
Location: Hop on hop off trolley was just around the corner and very convenient to sightsee this way. Walgreens just around the corner as well
Our vacation started here at Comfort Suites before our cruise. There were a number of restaurants close by, a Walgreens around the corner and a mall with a wine store approximately 3 blocks walk. The hotel staff recommended a place to have a manicure and pedicure. The staff were extremely accommodating ..... We had arrived at 0930 hrs and they found us a room by 1000 hrs. We enjoyed the complimentary breakfast

Nice comfortable and clean hotel.Posted Mar 29, 2015
Pros: The staff was excellent and helpful.
Cons: The room had a funny smell - it smelled like a cleaning solution and the fan in the room was quite loud.
Our family stayed one night at the Comfort Suites after our cruise. The hotel is a clean 3-star hotel and very sufficiently met all of our needs for one night. The hotel staff was EXCELLENT. The lobby was very busy when we arrived. The staff took care of us as quick as they could and provided a big smile when we got to the check-in desk. Jessica was very helpful in helping us make a decision on what we could do for a few hours while we waited for our room to be ready (we arrived quite a bit earlier than the check-in time so we knew we would have some extra time). We ended up renting a car and driving to Miami - which was one of the suggestions she made. She helped us get the car and we had the whole transaction done, including the car in front of the hotel in less than an hour. I would recommend staying here for a short stay.

Our party of three arrived at 9:00pm and our rooms were waiting for us. It had been a long traveling day and we really appreciated the welcoming smiles of all the staff. We will stay there again.

Very close to airport and portPosted Mar 15, 2015
Pros: Many fine eating places close by!!
The hotel was great, but we booked our pick up and trip to the airport from the shuttle in the hotel. We called twice and double checked with the police if we were in the correct place, but they never showed up!! It is strange because their main office is at the cruise area. We had to take a cab!!!

Nice, convenient Hotel close to Cruise Port.Posted Mar 14, 2015
Pros: Location. Airport Shuttle, Cruise shuttle organized.
Location: Walking distance to variety of restaurants, drug store and other shopping (if required). Great public bus connection to beach etc.,
Contrary to some comments I read on trip advisor, the Hotel is nicely renovated and provided appropriate services and comfort expected for a Choice Hotel. Price was comparable to similar Properties and a lot better than a "resort hotel", which would cost double. In November we stayed at a "resort hotel" nearby (major chain) and the price was similar, but for Feb/March was double and while the property was larger with nice outdoor pools, the rooms were not better (Comfort renovations were actually newer). Served our purpose very well. I am not putting one property against another, it depends what the purpose of your stay is when choosing a hotel.

Total screw up!Posted Mar 11, 2015
Pros: close to airport and ferry terminal, availability of suites
Cons: Paper backup of rooms available and reservations, communication between staff
This is a copy of the email I sent the Manager of the hotel. The only compensation for our two nights of incompetence was a refund of the amount we prepaid for a suite and the cost of what we got which was a standard room. Manager, Comfort Suites, Airport Cruiseport, Ft.Lauderdale I am writing regarding confirmation numbers 71069... and 71071.... We arrived at your hotel on the afternoon of Sunday March 1 shortly before 3:00 pm. There was a bit of a crowd waiting to check in but there seemed to be a problem with rooms not being ready. There was a lot of back and forthing between housekeeping and G*** on the desk. We had booked a suite with a fold out sofa bed but by the time we got to the counter G*** comped us an upgrade to a suite with two beds (402 I think). When we got upstairs an error had been made and housekeeping hadn't even started in the room. After another trip to the desk we were assigned another room (404?) with a promise from G*** that for our additional troubles he would upgrade us on our second stay on Thur. Mar. 5. (The room numbers might have been 402 & 404, but the doors were side by side). After once again waiting in the hall for that room to be done by housekeeping (nice staff by the way) we finally got in around 4:00. After spending 3 days in the Bahamas we arrived back at the hotel after midnight from the ferry terminal to find the night manager trying to check in 3 or 4 groups of guests but unable to access the computer and apparently unable to re
