Junior Suite

Posted Nov 12, 2014
Overall, not a bad trip, but there were multiple disturbances and phone calls from front desk trying to coordinate cleaning schedules, etc. This was very disruptive to our son's napping and sleeping schedules.

Close to the beach!

If you're looking for a great view and easy beach access then this is the place. But it has two restaurants, kinda pricey and it's quite a walk to other restaurants. But you can take the trolley which is convenient and cheap.

Would Go Back There Again

Posted Oct 23, 2014
Pros: The staff, the views, the pool.
Cons: The building seems to be getting a little worn down. That may just be normal wear and tear, and because its right on the ocean. The rooms are nice.
Location: Walking distance from the restaurants and bars. Convenient public transportation. Right across the street from the beach. Very good location.
Overall, my wife and I had a terrific experience. The staff was excellent, which can make all the difference given the number of similarly situated hotels in the area. Very nice pool, great views, right across the street from the beach. Within walking distance from the restaurants and bars. Buses and trolleys are convenient once you learn them. A few thoughts for those readers who have not been to Ft. Lauderdale: 1. Unless you absolutely need a car, I strongly suggest not renting one. The hotel parking is valet only, and charges approximately $33 per day, plus tips getting your car. I note, however, that parking is scarce in this area, and the Hilton's charges are consistent with other hotels. 2. If you want to go to the beach and sit on a lounge chair with an umbrella, be prepared for additional costs. There is a guy there who charges $12 per chair, and $25 for an umbrella. There is no discount for guests. He says that he is separate from the hotel, but you can charge it to your room. To me, this is an absurd additional cost, especially for this level hotel. Bring towels and go to the beach in the morning when it's not too hot and you don't need the umbrella. You can then go to the hotel pool, where there are a number of lounge chairs in shaded areas. 3. The suite had a kitchen. This allowed us to take a bus to a local supermarket for food and water. I suggest doing that early in your trip. It will save you a bundle in restaurant expenses.

Great hotel, great service

Stayed there for 4 days with my husband and 5 year old, got a lot of relaxation. Pool was nice, not too deep but as the sun was setting the hotel completely blocked the rays. Friendly staff, clean hallways, quiet at night time. Would definitely recommend.

Nice hotel close to beach and water taxi for river

Posted Oct 18, 2014
Pros: Bedroom size with kitchen facilities
Cons: Cost of valet parking bit expensive but very helpful staff.
Location: Take water taxi for tour of mega yachts and houses, Everglades only 30 minutes away by car. Visit Coconuts Restaurant for excellent food by waterside
Upgraded to junior suite on 22nd floor which gave lovely views from huge balcony. Ideal location
