Room condition. I NEED a copy of my bill..PLEASE!Posted Mar 3, 2014
Pros: Bike rentals
Cons: Remodel the whole place!!! Historic??? WHY?? It's a dump!
Location: Location was okay
Awful!! room was never cleaned, floors not swept nor mopped. needed to get two pillows and two more towels. The 'city view' was a roof top and expressway. The room was worse than the 'BATES MOTEL' !

Simple StayPosted Feb 20, 2014
The room was basic but very clean. It did have a small kitchen for extended stay use. The view was great and the hotel is located right on the water and there was night time security that made hotel feel very secure... however the hotel is old style so if your into the "modern" look its not for you.You also have to pay for parking in the public garage.

Week stay at "Historic" Hollywood ResortPosted Feb 19, 2014
Pros: Close to beach, and room had nice kitchenette.
Cons: customer service, housekeeping services, get rid of the bugs
Location: located on the beach, deep sea fishing, riverboat rides
This resort has seen better days, I am sure in it's heyday it was grand. Hotel staff need to take some customer service courses, We asked for coffee, (which should have been replenished in room anyway) and we were ask to wait until 8- 9 am the next morning and request it from housekeeping, finally, hotel front desk staff reluctantly did give us some. Hotel housekeeping did not sweep floor the during the entire week we stayed, and fresh towels were a joke, some days they left us one, no bath mat or hand towels, several days we had to ask for towels. The "breakfast" included with stay consisted of a voucher for the Coffee cart and were allowed 1 beverage and 1 bread (bagel, muffin, dessert bread, or toast) item, this was a disappointment, only good thing about breakfast was the Lady serving coffee she was very friendly. The very last straw was the last day as I was packing I seemed to disturb the "cockroaches" and had to kill 4 of them, YIKES, after I arrived home, I left the luggage out side to freeze for several days to make sure any hitchhikers died. Several shops were closed in the complex and was somewhat shabby.

HORRID EXPERIENCE!!Posted Feb 17, 2014
Pros: It was on the beach. That is about the only positive thing we could say.
Cons: Anything would be an improvement....
We found toothpaste in the sink basin, a wet, used washcloth in the tub (which meant there was only one CLEN washcloth for two guests). When I went to make a pot of coffee, there was OLD coffee still in the coffee pot. The air vents were dirty, and the bedspreads & curtains looked to be 50 years old. We had to pay $18 to valet park, but the valet clerk was nowhere to be found at 5a.m., and the front desk clerk told me to go find him in his vehicle (really??????) which was NOT where she told me. SHE finally had to go find his vehicle and wake him. Upon checking out, I informed the front desk clerk of my displeasure - her answer? It is only a 2-Star Hotel. I can understand why.... Oh, and I received a complimentary cup of coffee for my inconvience. And the best?? It is a Sunday, during tourist season, and everyone is trying to check out by 11 a.m. with only one of three elevators working. Talk about a safety hazard. All this for $298 a night????? We should have remained at The Red Carpet Inn for the $95 a night. At least it was clean, the furniture was new, and the staff most accommodating. We did not have ONE complaint about the Red Carpet Inn!!

the only nice thing is it's locationPosted Feb 16, 2014
Pros: That it was right on the beach.
Cons: It needs serious renovations and some insulation in the walls.
Location: The boardwalk is right outside the door. Excellent to stroll and many bar type restaurants along the way. Too price for there menus.
It is right on the boardwalk and ocean. The building is very old, kind of nostalgic. But... the elevators need serious updating. You can wait 10 minutes for it to come down 4 floors. Three elevators only one was working. The hallway to our room started smelling lot marijuana and then had a strong cigarette smell. It said no smoking all over the place. Thank God our room didn't smell. The walls were paper thin. There was an elderly couple next door and it sounded like they were sitting and watching tv with me. I didn't sleep all night with all the noise. Good thing I was only there for one night. For $200 plus a night, I would have liked some peace and quiet.

Dated hotel - Great LocationPosted Feb 13, 2014
Pros: Ocean side location and the nice pool
Cons: hotel is in need of refreshing if not total renovation
Location: Great Location with boardwalk and beach right there. You can rent bikes, Segway's and have a nice walk on the boardwalk. Beach is great.
The reviews were quite accurate. The hotel is dated but 'acceptable'. The location is excellent--your have the boardwalk with all the restaurants and ocean right there. The pool is also excellent. For those who need quiet to sleep, you will have problems since the fridge and plumbing are very noisy and those pillows...oh my word. Hotel is dated and definitely needs at least refreshing if not total renovation. But the reasonable price and perfect location are why I would return

Beautiful Hollywood BeachPosted Feb 8, 2014
Pros: The pool, and staff, and location.
Cons: More restaurants and stores in the resort.
Location: On the two and a half mile Broad walk there are many shops and restaurants. You can rent bikes, or walk while enjoying beautiful views of the ocean.
Received room upon arriving. Had booked in April for January 28th arrival. Had requested a double room, but received a King bed. I explained this wasn't what I had requested, and was upgraded to double ocean view room at no charge. Hotel has been renovated and room was excellent. The resort used to have several restaurants, but now there's only one, and it's outside. Things have changed, but I would still go back. Just love the area, and meeting up with the same guests and staff each year. The Broad Walk is amazing. The pool and staff are excellent.
