Legendary with lots of character - breathtakingPosted Feb 24, 2015
Pros: The hotel is right on the boardwalk and ocean.
Cons: Main floors needs to be updated with more stores or sitting areas. Too many abandoned/unfinished areas. Needs a restaurant inside the actual hotel.
Location: The ocean is literally outside the back hotel door! Plenty of shops and restaurants. The boardwalk is a pleasure. The hotel pool is amazing!
Although the hotel is clearly old, it was a delight for me to wander the halls and lobby and see all the old pictures of the hotel and people who stayed there years and years ago. I thought the room was neat and clean which is always important. The shower was difficult to work and the blow dryer had to be replaced, but one call to the front desk and everything was fixed! I would definitely stay there again. It doesn't have the amenities that the luxury hotels have, but for the price it was absolutely a pleasure. The view alone and the pool made it 100% worth it. Also, I would like to add that the staff was very helpful and polite.

Looks good from outside....terrible insidePosted Feb 23, 2015
Pros: The location
Cons: complete remodel w/ a new staff
the room was dirty...the bed was made when we arrived, but it was obvious that the sheets hadn't been changed. we couldn't get them to change the comforter that was dirty. the walls were paper thin and between the hotel staff and other guests we couldnt get any peace. We left the hotel and checked into another place. don't be fooled by the pictures, its nothing like that.

wait till next yearPosted Feb 16, 2015
Pros: pool, location to beach, full fridge in room
Cons: exercise room is old and never in the 10 years we've been there has it been updated. electronic keys to get into elevator & room never work too long.
Location: closeness to beach/boardwalk is great. 20 minute drives or less to shop and get to restaurants helps.
our plane arrived at 9:30 pm. got to hotel around 11pm & were told that our room was no longer ours! the fine print they said was no check ins past 4pm without risk of losing room. we were told find another hotel! anger provoking to say the least. fighting them they offered another room but without a fridge. another room had no shower curtain, no remote control, and a broken thermostat. we had no choice but to take. next day all were fixed after a full day of uncalled for aggravation. I had to sleep with the AC on a very low temp. blowing right on top of my bed. we were also supposed to get breakfast but when we got there the hotel said that they no longer serve breakfast. so, we got nothing for what we had paid for.

Great bang for the buck!Posted Feb 10, 2015
The rooms are not the most up to date but you're right on the boardwalk and the pool IS heated. If you're looking for a good place to soak up the sun & dont plan on spending much time in the rooms then this $100/ night deal offseason is right on. Beds are clean!

Hotel near beach but OldPosted Feb 6, 2015
Old hotel, good location, near beach, the internet is only available in the lobby. Is like a retired people residence mix with hotel rooms.

Mutton Dressed As LambPosted Feb 5, 2015
Histórical hotel Maybe. Its quaint Old style charm ripped to shreds By a 90s achitect. Bath room door lock faulty had to open myself. Internet lobby only. Good locaction but worth the money?

good thing we had to leave in the AM!Posted Feb 4, 2015
Cons: bed blankets & sheets
Location: Ft Lauderdale
we were lucky to have had our dogs blankets with us. Good for 1 guy to stay but, not a great idea to take your family. Ft. Lauderdale is also nicer. The only good thing was the ocean view in the AM, looking over the roof.
