Red Dirt Open

Posted Apr 1, 2014
Pros: Staff, cleanliness
Cons: AC unit in my room was about to conk out.
Location: Golf course right there, and very easy to get to beach.
Had a great stay, staff was very nice, room was really clean, always smelled wonderful. Had an "old feel" like maybe the old resorts in the past were. Rudy's was a good place to eat as well, just wish it was open for breakfast every day. Will stay there again next time!

Expensive for an old hotel

Posted Mar 31, 2014
This hotel was expensive and sounded good online. However it is an older hotel and tired looking. We did not play the golf course. The hotel was close to the beach but certainly not on a beach so i am unsure where the name comes from. If you are looking for a golf course for the average hacker and are ok with an older style hotel you would be happy here. However we were just looking for 1 night to sleep and for what we paid, i thought it was overpriced.

Florida getaway

Resort was in a perfect location for heading to Hollywood Beach and Hallandale Beach. Quaint hotel , no frills, fabulous friendly staff. Did not eat there because of the great top dining spots in the area. Jacks Diner on the 1 at Hayes is a must!

Great for a place near the airport

Posted Mar 24, 2014
Pros: Peaceful on the golf course and near the airport.
Cons: It is due to be upgraded a bit.
We chose the resort based on price and proximity to the Ft. Lauderdale airport. We had an early flight and the location is very convenient, a straight shot north on US 1 for a few miles and you are there. The hotel is older but was very functional. The food at the restaurant was excellent and very affordable. Hotel and restaurant staff were great. We would stay there again when we visit the area.

Older Hotel with Nice Room

Posted Mar 23, 2014
Pros: Convenient location, right on golf course
Cons: Some sprucing up of hotel building and rooms
Location: Golf, beach near by
The hotel itself was a little "tired". Nice enough room with great view of golf course. We enjoyed our stay here and may visit again.

Nice Golf Course view

Posted Mar 18, 2014
Pros: Having a lanai overlooking golf course
Cons: Sound proofing walls, updating with painting, new floors, bathroom
Location: golf course on site. close to route 1 and stores. Short ride to Hollywood Beach which is nice beach area
No one to check you in after 8. No one at main desk all day to assist with issues or problems Room was clean but dated- needed new bathroom, etc. Rooms did not get made up until very late in day. This is after requesting to have the room made up at 3 so we could get ready to go out to a party at 5. THE MAIN ISSUE WAS THE PAPERTHIN WALLS- WE WERE AWOKEN EACH MORNING AT 5 A.M. WHEN THE NEXT DOOR NEIGHBOR WOULD PUT ON HIS TV. COULD HEAR CONVERSATIONS, AND THERE WERE NOISY PEOPLE ROAMING THE HALLS DURING THE NIGHT. NO ONE WAS AT THE DESK AVAILABLE TO MONITOR THIS.

Very dated, few amenities

Posted Mar 17, 2014
This hotel was located in the middle of a golf club so it was secure despite being in a rather sketchy area. The rooms were large but very dated with few amenities. A one night stay was enough for me. The pool was nice, small and private (outdoors). Noisy trains during night wake me up several times. It was clean and spacious however and the rooms facing the golf course had screened balconies or porches.

Nice hotel with golf course, slightly rundown area

Comfortable room and bed. I don't golf, but course looked nice. Nice bar and restaurant run by friendly people. About 10 min drive to Ft Lauderdale airport.

Nice small hotel next to downtown Hollywood, FL

Posted Feb 11, 2014
Pros: Room was spacious, clean. Staff was very friendly. No loud noise or partying (after all.. it's on a golf course!)
Cons: Beds were ok, but are a bit outdated- could be replaced with slightly more comfortable ones. But thats it.
Location: Right next to Young's Circle and Arts Park. A few blocks away is the shady part of town, so we were told, but didn't run into any problems.
Stayed one night. Very close to bars, shops, restaurants.

Reasonably priced, but could use updating.

Posted Feb 10, 2014
Pros: It was reasonably priced and nice view of golf course.
Cons: There was an odor in the room which gave me a headache, could not figure out what it was Room needed more outlets.
There was no staff at the desk the entire time I was there. Liked the independent feel, but was unexpected. Liked the view of the golf course. First thing I noticed was that the hotel and especially the room had an odor and I could not make out what it was. For this reason alone I would not stay there again as it gave me a headache. Other than that the hotel was o.k. , the staff in the restaurant were very pleasant.
