“It was OK”
Our first night stay was OK. The size of the bed requested was supposed to be a King size bed. It wasn't, it was a full size. Our return stay a week later we got the King size bed and a bigger room. Staff was friendly.
“Atmosphere!”
Great location right on the beach. The little bakery around the corner from the reception desk had the best drip coffee and freshly baked croissants we've had in a long time. This was obviously a grand beautiful hotel in its day. The "king-size" bed was barely a queen, no shampoo provided, but what atmosphere!
“Go somewhere else”
First, the positive: location. Then, the negative: everything else. The place is dirty, it lacks any kind of services and thoroughly disappointing. The shower turns from burning hot to freezing cold without any notice. If you want soap or shampoo, you need to ask for it specially. Everyday! Because they will only give you one. All the equipment in the gym is old and in poor condition. Staff is unhelpful and not nice at all Breakfast is disgusting. Arguably the worst coffee I tried. Very limited options. I stayed there for a week and they never changed the sheets. The room would not be cleaned until 4pm Save yourself from a disappointment an go someplace else..
“Totally misrepresented”
I knew this hotel was a little out of the way from the mainstream, but I thought that is why I got a good price. I paid extra for the ocean view room after seeing the photo that was next to the description of that room. It showed sliding doors that opened to the ocean. No, there was a small window with heavy plastic shutters. Well, after prying the shutters open, I got a slight view of the water if I looked out at an angle. That was even blocked by a very dark screen. Of course the window did not open. The main view was the disgusting rooftop of part of the building. That obliterated even a street scene. The room was supposed to be no smoking but the stench was so strong I couldn't sleep. The hotel's idea of fixing that problem was to send a maid with a spray bottle of disinfectant. She went around and sprayed the walls. Now I had two noxious odors co-mingling. When I got home and unpacked, even my clean clothes smelled of smoke, I had to wash everything. The floors were dirty, the toilet never stopped running, when I asked for more packets of coffee, a surly maid brought me just one. There is a free shuttle service to/from the airport which I was told was every 20 minutes. When I called from the airport they said an hour's wait, when I asked what happened to the 20 minute wait, I was told "what do you want, it's free?" The continental breakfast didn't start until 7 a.m. and my shuttle out the next morning also left at 7, so I didn't get that. Not a good experience.
“Stinky Place”
Don't be fooled by the outer appearance, you might as well go to a motel.
“Mgiraldo”
It is in a good place. the service is good. The only think the hotel charge the parking and I think it is better to parking in other place near to the hotel. It is a public parking it cost 10 usd vs 18 usd hotel rate.
“recent guest”
locaion is great. Hotel needs serious updating including room toilets. Room windows cannot be opened to enjoy the sea breeze. looking into the outside, all the windows latches seemed to be broken off.
“"would not go back"”
The hotel was built in 1927 and was not up to date. The pool was out of service.. There were hidden hotel service fees when we checked . We were not impressed. We would not go back or recommend.
“Not Exactly Exciting”
Strong chemical smells, poor facilities in hotel. Access to boardwalk very nice. Only a couple of blocks to decent breakfast. Only stayed one night. Could not imagine staying for a week
“Nice older hotel”
Hotel is obviously old, but is also obviously on the rebound. The rooms were small but clean and well maintained. Free rides from the airport and to the cruise port. Continental breakfast was not much to brag about. Price was pretty reasonable. All in all would stay there again.
