“Great place to stay”

I grew up in Florida and spent many of my younger days in hotels just like this. Make no mistake, this is not a new modern hotel; it looks like a 1960's building. However, it is superbly maintained, clean and in beautiful condition. It is one block from the beach so a very short walk and you are enjoying the water. It is also walking distance from shops and restaurants. It was the off season when we were there and the price was great. We are scuba divers and did a dive from the beach and I can tell you that when we go back, we will be staying there again. Thanks to the staff for the great stay!

“Clean, convenient hotel by the beach.”

Horizon by the Sea is the typical older type hotel common in the area, but it seems to be in better condition and is very clean. Staff are very helpful. My friends were at another hotel a few blocks away that wasn't as nice or clean. Internet works well too. Overall I was very satisfied and would definitely stay there again!

“Close to the airport”

“Older, Charming But Could Have Better Pillows!”

This hotel was not a bargain with all the "extra" fees! We paid "extra" for every person in the room even though it was a room for 4. My sister had an "apartment" which was just 2 adjoining rooms. The overall setting was charming for an older motel. It had nice sitting areas outside around a table and lush, green foliage. The owners are a little hard to deal with. Although nice, they didn't accommodate us very well. When we asked for extra towels in our room, she told me how tired, & how sick she was. She finally gave me one extra towel - making it 3 towels for 4 persons in the room & we PAID EXTRA! My sister tried to get extra towels for their "suite" & it was like pulling teeth to get them. The pillows are atrocious! They're so flat you can't get comfortable. Better pillows would be a huge improvement at this place & well worth the investment. Our daughter's room had sand & hair on the sheets so she asked them to be changed, which they did, grudgingly. Overall, it was a cheap room, walking distance to the ocean ( about 2.5 blocks); & was a good place to stay if you don't want to spend a lot. But, at $168/nt for the room, I expected better service. Our room wasn't made up at all the whole 3 days we stayed there! When I complained, she said there was nothing she could do. "So sorry!!" This is better than some in the area for the same price. If you're looking for a cheap stay, it's ok. But if you want more service, you'll have to pay more.
