Nice hotel, near the beachPosted Feb 15, 2014
Pros: Location, atmosphere, other people at the hotel, staff was helpful and accommodating
Cons: phone service was poor, but after complained did receive a new phone
Location: Near the beach, main stores, highway, bike share, good restaurants
Liked the apartment hotel, we were able to cook and did not have to go out to restaurants for every meal. It was nice and relaxing during the evening. Great staff, clean place. Well taken care off.

Pros: 5 minute walk from the beach... Quiet at night... Room was basic but clean... Cleaned daily.. Fresh towels daily.... Great budget accommodation...
Cons: The room was self catering with a kitchen... The kitchen should be better supplied with cutlery, pans and utensils etc.

Lovely little gem.Posted Nov 9, 2013 on Hotels.com
Minutes from the beach, walking distance to drugstore, liquor outlet, restaurants, shopping, bus. Owners very friendly and helpful. Rooms clean and quiet...nice little pool..Went next door to Tourist info and got the lowdown on what to do...and how to save some $$$. Cabs and Google have trouble with address so be sure to specify Ft.Lauderdale by the Sea and add the name of the hotel to save yourself some aggravation. Would recommend.

Close to beach, free parking/wifiPosted Oct 15, 2013
This is a nice clean spot to stay. John was a good host, upgrading my room without asking to a larger room that had a fridge and microwave. TV channels are limited, but you aren't on holiday to watch TV anyway, right? The building is older, but very well maintained, with a lovely garden, and a small but clean pool for refreshing dips. Only a block from the beach, with free parking, and free wifi. I'd certainly stay there again. Don't expect grandeur at this price, but for clean, functional and close to the beach, this is a good place to stay.

perfect locationPosted Aug 17, 2013 on Hotels.com
The hotel was nice but we were the only ones there, very clean but not good customer services. When i check in there was a note on the door telling me room open and key in room, and I arrive sunday around 2.00 pm.

comfortable, enjoyable and relaxingPosted May 29, 2013 on Hotels.com
My daughter and I stayed at the hotel Horizon by the Sea Inn for 5 days in April, 2013. The first moment we arrived, everything was ready for us. Roma was very nice and always cooperative. The room and everything was in a very good condition. The beach, restaurants, supermarkets, even the Tourist Center for information, were within a few minutes walk. The entire staff of the hotel was efficient and courteous. We enjoyed every day and were pleased with everything. I would gladly recommend this hotel to all my friends.

Pros: the garden and the garden swing seat and pool
Cons: The attitude of the owners and their offhand treatment of the guests
Location: Very good location near to beach and local shops and restaurants, but on a main road
Good location, near to shops and restaurants, nice pool and garden, we particularly liked the large swing seat. We found the owners to be offhand and disinterested in our experience, maybe they didn't understand our English accent? e.g. when enquiring about local places of interest we were merely directed to the leaflets displayed but given no additional information. The owners were more interested in whether people were filling their coolers with ice from the machine!! Its a shame because it is a very nice reasonable place to stay in a fantastic location, that extra mile from the owners would have made it the whole experience wonderful.

Location is greatPosted Apr 1, 2013 on Hotels.com
Lauderdale-by-the-Sea is a very small beach community just north of Ft Lauderdale (about 5 mi). If you want a less crowded beach and don't mind being away from the action and hubub of spring break, this is a great place! Hotel is well located, about a 2 minutes walk to the beach. Restaurants and some shops are nearby on Commercial St. Rooms are decent-sized, have AC, a small fridge and microwave, but are otherwise no frills. We did not make use of the pool with the beach so close. Though it's right on A1A, there was surprisingly little noise (guests or traffic). Coffee is supposed to be available from 8:30-11:00am (when it doesn't run out). A somewhat surly, but pleasant Polish couple seem to run the place. The manager made us two personal cups of coffee on two occasions when there was none around 10am (after first telling us to get our coffee earlier or go to the nearby 7-Eleven!). Towels get changed every day (whether needed or not) and beds are made and toiletries refreshed, but I never saw evidence of the bathroom having been cleaned, which would have been nice! We stayed for one week and enjoyed the relaxing time. A bit pricey for what it is, especially during spring break, but you're paying for location!
