it was a nice place..cozy and comfortable..the night guy was really nice n friendly...the hotel could use a facelift in some areas but otherwise it was a good stay.

“A very good value choice”

The Lafayette is not the Four Seasons (but you are also not paying those kind of rates). However, it is only a block and a half from the beach, provides free wireless internet access, has a half-size refrigerator in the room, a bar-b-que grill at the pool, ice and snack machines, tables and chairs outside the room and some laundry facilities. They also try to take care of the people who are staying with them by doing little things like helping me check in for my return flight and printing out my boarding passes and providing beach chairs if you ask (they only have a few). Basically, we bought some food and a cheapo cooler when we got there. Kept most things in the fridge, but filled up the cooler with ice and drinks then walked down to the beach. We were close enough that we would just run back to the room if we needed to use the bathroom. At night, we were able to look online for information and directions to restaurants and places to do things. So, it had everything we wanted. On the downside, although the room was clean, the floors (which are ceramic tile) have a dirt buildup that will make you want to bring slippers to wear in the room. There is also no microwave or coffee pot in the room (which is probably why there isn't a bug problem like most small hotels on the beach) and you do need to bring your own hair dryer. Even with all of that, the best recommendation I can give is that I would stay someplace a second time and the Lafayette is definitely in that category.

cozy, one block from de beach, ideal for 2 or 3 days trip, the staff is extremely kind, helpful and nice care of you, i recomend this hotel with no doubt

I chose this hotel because of price, location, and free parking. For these reasons I would choose to stay there again. The staff were very accomodating, providing all I needed to make my stay comfortable. The room was adequate, though in need of some maintenance, and the smell of cigarette smoke at times was noticeable. It's convenient to the beach and has a pleasant pool to cool off in. Definitely worth checking out.

Good clean basic room for a reasonable price. Noisy setting right on a major road. Very nice staff--helpful and courteous.

good place very clean, however, abandoned buildings by the ocean, overall seemed safe, great places to east and shop on pacific boulevard.

For the price you are paying it is a great deal, at walking distance to the beach. The staff is friendly, the roon was confortable and sort of clean, don't expect service for that price. It is just a safe confortable place to go to sleep. They have complimentary coffe and pastries every morning!

Overall, I was happy with this hotel. We got a great deal on expedia. If you are looking to stay near the beach, this hotel is right across the street, which was the most important thing for me. Very close to everything. Hotel staff was great, everything we wanted or asked for we got right away. I would definitely go back, and recommend this hotel to anyone traveling to Fort Lauderdale!
