On the beach. Great food at the restaurants.Posted Mar 5, 2014
Pros: close to everything without the loud crowds
Cons: taxi service
Location: water taxi is a mile away, restaurants are nearby, right on the beach
We booked this hotel on a whim for a quick winter getaway. Our mini vacation started immediately. Meals at the outdoor restaurant were good; conch fritters, shrimp salad, turkey club and mahi mahi sandwiches were all good. Breakfast at the diner style soda shop were reasonably priced and a good way to start the day. We got the all day water taxi pass and walked a mile to stop number 6 behind the Hyatt. The lobby bar in the hotel was a great place to meet others and get tips on the area and for a night cap. All employees were very friendly and helpful. Would definitely stay here again.

Exellent room, and lots to do.Posted Feb 19, 2014
Pros: We enjoyed our room on fifth floor with an excellent view, and would like to have it again next year when we visit.
Cons: Thought everything was fine. Perhaps more waiters at the outside bar and grill.
Location: Location was great, and we didn't go out of hotel at all.
We had a great time visiting my cousin who is there all week, and we enjoyed eating at the restaurants, and our girls enjoyed the playground.

Great location away from the hustle and bustlePosted Feb 18, 2014
Pros: I like that this hotel is close to the action - a walk down the beach will get you there - but it's quiet and off the beaten path. No riff-raff!
Cons: Some improvement necessary for breakfast in the dining room. There were a lot of people and staff was a smidge too busy to attend to all.
Location: Private. Half mile to Pier 66, the cruise ship port & services such as restaurants, etc...It's a walk on the beach to the action/nightlife.
What a great place to stay if you are looking for all of the amenities in one spot. The pool is out the back doors and beyond the pool is your private beach! There are things for the kids to do - outdoor chess, mini golf, swings, playground - and plenty for the adults - two pools, lounge chairs, outdoor bar. It's a great family place but also a great place for an adult get-away.

Great location, great resortPosted Feb 10, 2014
Pros: Great location, staff, and facility.
Spent a great weekend with friends at this resort. Its a 10 minute drive from the Fort Lauderdale airport, we arrived before check in but our room was ready. The staff was very friendly and helpful. Accommodations were great. The room was clean and comfortable. There is no ice machine, but the staff was happy to bring bags of ice to us any time we asked. The pools were clean and refreshing, lots of poolside chairs available every day. The restaurants were good, the staff at the poolside grill/bar was the fast and polite. The more formal dinning room service was slower and almost seemed to discourage us from ordering drinks because it meant they had to walk to the poolbar to get them. No complaints about any of the food from our group. They played great music by the pool, and even had a girl walking around the pool taking drink orders.

elegant settingPosted Jan 12, 2014
Pros: I enjoyed the location (close to port) and the beach front access.
Cons: Room service timing when orders are placed.
Location: We took a taxi to local seafood place that the staff recommended the food was very good.
My two boys ages 18, and19, and myself (50+ mother), stayed at the Lago Mar and thought the accommodations were very nice. Good location to the cruise ship port, we had just returned from a week out at sea and we all thought the hotel was just as nice with much larger rooms. My only complaint was the room service on the morning of our departure. it took a much longer time than I was initially told when I placed the order. They eventually showed up after placing 2 more calls, I'm sure they were busy but I would have made other breakfast plans if I had know they were running so far behind. That was my only issue, everything else was wonderful. The food was delicious.

Mattresses need to be replacedPosted Jan 10, 2014
Pros: On the beach. Warm pools !
Cons: The beds.
Location: You have to drive to the entertainment area of Fort Lauderdale's beach district. This area is better suited for families with young children.
A pleasant hotel with a couple of caveats. First, this hotel is not on the Fort Lauderdale entertainment/beach strip. If you want to be in the centre of the action - don't stay here. However the hotel is on the beach. Secondly, given the age of the hotel expect big hotel rooms and tiny bathrooms. Newer hotels understand the need for larger bathrooms. Finally, both the mattress and the pillows were uncomfortable. Given room rates for this hotel it is likely time for them to be replaced.

Great resortPosted Jan 2, 2014
We loved this hotel. The staff was friendly, the food was outstanding and not overpriced and everything was clean. We have a two year old and six year old boy. There was TONS of things for them to do and kids activities at night. Cruise ships were in and out of a nearby dock and airplanes frequent. This was a HUGE hit with our kids while on the beach. Coffee lovers will be happy with the coffee from the snack shop. The landscaping is beautiful. My boys ran around with white socks on in the hotel room and they did not get dirty. This is rare in a hotel. Parking is close and convenient if you don't want to valet. Although kid friendly, it is not over run with children and you could easily relax around the pool without getting splashed. I could go on and on. It is a great place and we plan to go back next year.
