Good renovated older hotel, great shuttle service

Posted Apr 24, 2015
Location: Not a great location for attractions but close to restaurants and some shopping.
Good, clean older hotel, recently renovated. Good continental breakfast in the morning. Great job organizing shuttle service from airport and to cruise port for all guests.

HORRIBLE

Everything about this hotel was awful. I have been trying to get in contact with someone from there for over two weeks. I will never go back again and I don't recommend this hotel to anyone!!!!!!!!!

Any Port in a Storm

We needed a place to stay because of a missed flight. It is your basic motel, by no means upscale but the room we were in was clean but no frills. The first room they gave us smelled strongly of urine and another in our party was given a room that also smelled very badly. They gave us new rooms with no problem but told us it was because of the cleaners that were used. If that's the case, they need a new cleaning crew. Left too early for the buffet breakfast so I don't know anything about it. The room was great for what we need it for - a place to sleep. There is a pool but the property itself is located on a very busy street.

Motel cher pour y dormir juste.

Posted Apr 14, 2015
On a eu chambre en rdc près de la piscine donc le soir tres bruyant, personne ne passe pour faire taire les gens. Clim tres bruyante ronronnement en continu car on attend celle de tous l étage . Boules caisse obligatoire pour dormir. Petit dej sympa. Magasin ét resto à côté . Plage 20 mn en voiture. Piscine propre eh sympa

1) I was told they provide a shuttle from the airport. When I arrived, and called the hotel we were ready for the shuttle, they said, "We don't offer the shuttle after 10:00 pm." THIS WAS NEVER TOLD TO ME. 2) I inquired about a shuttle to Port Everglades (cruise dock) and was told they offer a $6 shuttle. Another reason way I chose this hotel. The morning we woke and wanted to leave, I was told I needed to make reservations as to WHEN we wanted to go to the port. We had to settle for a really late time. AGAIN, NO ONE TOLD ME WE NEEDED TO RESERVE A TIME FOR THE SHUTTLE I chose this hotel just for these reasons. It cost me an extra $40 for a cab ride to the hotel and I ended up splitting another cab to the dock. Apparently "full-disclosure" is something the people in the hotel don't seem to like. They KNOW the information. They just don't want to SHARE the information. VERY UPSET!

The hotel is not what I expected. It was supposed to be a Best Western Hotel and name was changed recently to Ramada. It's a very old hotel and location was not closed to the airport.

A great 50's retro motel!

Posted Apr 8, 2015
Pros: Clean & beautiful grounds. Loved that it was an original 50's motel in great shape!
Cons: Noisy air conditioner in our room Rm 330.
Location: Shopping & 10 minute ride to Lauderdale by the Sea
Clean, Clean, Clean! This hotel was spotless - staff cleaning inside & outside. Beautiful grounds, pool, fitness center, laundry room and breakfast room - all for a great price! Close by shopping! Stayed with family & everyone loved it.

Cons: Most of the staff was friendly but some at the front desk seemed unimpressed at times. Overall, very great service though.
Very impressed with this little place! Very clean and well-priced. Loved the fact that transportation was included! So convenient.

Perfect for Cruisers

Posted Apr 5, 2015
Pros: Nice staff, good breakfast, great transportation services for cruisers
Cons: Outdated facilities but clean and comfortable
Location: No beach access but had a nice pool. Several restaurants nearby.
We had a great experience with the Oakland Park Inn. We flew into the Ft. Lauderdale airport late on a Saturday night. Just called the front desk once we made it to baggage claim and they sent a van to pick us up. We only had to wait 5 min or so after our bags arrived. Check-in was quick and easy. The room itself was fine - pretty outdated but clean and comfortable. The free breakfast was nice as well with eggs, sausage, fruit, cereal, waffles, etc. We checked out at 11 am and they provided a van that took us to the pier for our Carnival cruise. The driver dropped us right outside the building where we had to check in. I would recommend this hotel to others just needing a place to stay before their cruise.
