“The Renaissance Hotel, Wonderful.”
A lovely hotel situated (admittedly off the main road) on 17th street, but this we found to be of no noise of any real disturbance whatsoever.
We looked at many and really made the right choice with this, not cheap, but not too expensive either, considering location, costs of taxis etc.
So not near the beach, (and we knew this before booking) but not an airport hotel either,
With great pool and Jacuzzi, pool bed towels and workout gym.
We stayed for 2 nights prior to cruising.
A stroll along 17th find some good choice eating places, restaurants, bagel bars, Denny's, and the Waterfront dining fish restaurant at Bimini Boat Yard is very romantic ( right next door to hotel) and good price too.
The water taxi is a great way to get about for a one off price of $20 you can jump on and off all day long.
Placed ideally for the cruise port, 5/10 minutes.
The hotel provide a really efficient mini bus service to the port for $6 per person.
The cost of taxi from Fort Lauderdale International to The Renaissance was $20 including tip.
Superb breakfast menu $15 buffet and really great selection.
We even went back after our cruise to spend a happy couple hours at the pool.
I can't say enough about how perfect The Renaissance is we will be back there again soon.
