Nice hotel close to cruise port

Pros: Large clean room. Friendly staff and desk And bar.
Cons: Update the hotel. It looks out dated.
Location: We walked across the street to Walgreens and ate at Bravos Italian per the desk clerks recommendation . DO NOT EAT THERE!
We stayed here the night before our cruise. It is literally across the street from the port and the hotel has a shuttle (for a small fee) that will take you to your ship as early as 10am. The room was very clean and huge! Bed was comfortable and room and quite. The room service breakfast was not unite what I expected from this hotel.

From the moment we entered the hotel until we left the service was excellent. The people in Fort Lauderdale are very friendly and approachable. The hotel is adjacent to retail and restaurants which is an added bonus. They have shuttle buses to the cruise boats. The room was clean with a pleasing decor. In this level of hotel I would highly recommend it. I will come again.

Excellent Hotel Close to the Cruise Ship Port

Pros: Customer service - Hotel rooms very clean - Loved the rain forest shower head! Quiet. Close to other restaurants, cruise port.
Cons: Nothing! Everything was terrific!
Location: Bimini Boat Yard Bar and Grill - had lunch here - wow! Great service - outstanding food. Wait staff were very friendly yet professional.
Outstanding customer service - from the front desk staff (all were terrific) to the housekeeping staff; and bellman. Very clean, quiet, great walking distance to the canals to see the big 'boats' and to view the cruise ships. Nice restaurants near by if you want something a little different. Very clean, efficient, quiet. Have stayed at several places in Ft. Lauderdale previously and spent much more money - but did not get the same great customer service as this hotel. Would highly recommend to others and staying here again! I wish I could remember the names of the front desk staff - but it doesn't matter - because everyone I had contact with was outstanding! Thanks - Kudos - Keep up the great work! You made the start of my vacation a very enjoyable one. (And great little pool as well!).

Great hotel for beach lovers

Pros: It was a beautiful hotel in a great location - close to the beach, restaurants and shopping........very clean and the rooms were furnished comfortably
Cons: I did not see a concierge service - that would be helpful.

We only stayed one night on our way back from the west coast of Florida - but we were very pleased with the hotel and the room..we will be back next year.

Pros: Location.
Cons: The hotel is a little run down and I felt we could have stayed at a nicer hotel for around the same price.
Location: The Galleria Mall is fantastic. Close to the beach.
This hotel has a great location. It is close to the cruise terminal, airport and Galleria Mall.

Nice hotel located near Port Everglades

Pros: Location; d├ęcor; restaurant waitstaff.
Cons: Nothing comes to mind
Location: Near port everglades. Lots of restaurants within walking distance; and a drug store across the street.
Very nice hotel -- we were told had recently been thoroughly renovated. So close to Port Everglades that could see Royal Princess and Emerald Princess from the windows. Nice room -- shuttle service to Port Everglades was available at $6/head. We ate in the restaurant for dinner and breakfast (a party of 7 with a couple of young kids) -- good food; great wait staff. Close to the airport ($15 cab fare).

Perfect place to stay for cruisers.

Pros: Proximity to Everglades Crusie ship terminal, all amenities nearby, nice pool and hot tub. Was clean we only stayed one night and we not in room much.
Cons: Pool could be cleaner palm fronds on bottom and no towels available but were brought immediately upon asking.
Location: Beach, shopping, restaurants, must do intra costal boat/ferry tour....lots to do. Walgreens with wine across street.
Only stayed one night but loved it. Close to everything. We walked to beach on the strip then took the intracoastal ferry/sight seeing tour back. What an unexpected surprise. Everything was very east to figure out and pay for. We will definately stay here again when in the area.

Good chose for cruising

Pros: Hotel was clean and room comfortable. Also it is close to the Port Everglades cruise port.
Cons: Free Wi-Fi would be nice.
Location: This is not a shopping area but if you are going on a cruise it is a good location.
My wife and I stayed here on March 8/14 for one night before we left on a Royal Caribbean cruise. Nice hotel close to the cruise port and from our corner king room we could see the cruise ships, but do not try to walk to the ship with your luggage. Take the cruise port shuttle for $6 per person. We signed up for the shuttle in the hotel lobby on the morning of our cruise. They open at 9:30 am for time slots bookings. Shuttle time slots book up fast. Hotel is close to restaurants and Starbucks. We would definitely stay here again.

Comfortable hotel near the port

Pros: Convenient, reasonably priced, near the port and other restaurants near by. Pool is nice too.
Excellent facility near the port. We stayed before and after the cruise. Friendly but no intrusive staff. Although there are other restaurants near by, we enjoyed just eating in their small restaurant and in their lounge/bar area. We've tried several other hotels in the area but like this one the best so far.

A Reservation is Not a Reservation

Pros: We didn't get to stay there so there was no opportunity to like anything.
Cons: We would want a confirmed reservation to be honored.
Location: Very close to cruise port, walking distance to restaurants, about a mile walk or short cab ride to the beach.
Although we booked and paid in June 2013, when we arrived on Feb.6, 2014, at 2 p.m., we were told the hotel was overbooked and they were sending us to another hotel, which they paid for. However, we had to pay for another cab ride to the new hotel. This has never happened to us with other Expedia hotel bookings. I would not chance booking another Renaissance hotel!
