I only gave one star because it wouldn’t allow zero. This was one of the worst stays of my life. To start off, the place was not clean, there was only one working plug in the bathroom. We initially weren’t too concerned because we only booked this place to sleep and we overlooked some of the cleaning things since we were just sleeping and brought our owns sheets anyways. But then…there were literally multiple roaches and we had to leave immediately! The front desk would not address the two nights we stayed or offer any refund for the prepaid stay, said they “weren’t in the business of giving refunds, that’s what you get for booking through Expedia, not our problem.”

staff was outstanding and reception was better than a “10”, greeted and warm introduction…BUT, don’t believe the pictures on line/website—older hotel so expect luxury of 3 out of 5..no restaurant, bar, and elevator problems…excellent area, walk across the street to ocean!!

If like me you read the reviews and are still thinking of giving the place a chance because just maybe it’s not that bad then I AM THE REVIEWER THAT IS DOING THIS FOR YOU, this is the review you needed to come across. I booked 2 nights here because I can handle basic and if its bad then oh well its just 2 nights, I even arrive late the 1st evening so that’s even less time. This hotel wasn’t bad it shouldn’t be open, it’s decaying, it’s filthy, it’s rotten. The carpets are stained and filthy with what could be anything, I couldn’t take my shoes off. The bathrooms are peeling apart, things are broken and unclean in so many areas. The lights don’t work, the door frame had rotted and air comes through, the door sat in a weekend frame and the whole thing is made worse because the other side is exposed to the elements and not protected by being situated in a hallway. The smell is like dirt and damp. I checked out that same night. This place should not be in business honestly. Take this review for exactly what it is because if you book you will be experiencing all this for yourself and have deep regret. I don’t think the bad reviews on here even do this place justice.

The photos shown maybe were new about 20 years ago. The sheets that they said were clean were brown, there was bugs, and No restaurant. We couldn't stay there so I was out over $200.00.

The hotel is very well located and has a good structure, such as a good gym and swimming pool. But it needs renovation and better care with the cleaning of the rooms. It has excellent value for money!

Overall not too great, I knew the property was old but the upkeep and overall cleanliness was pretty bad. My toilet had to be “fixed” 5 times in the first day; eventually just stopped asking for it to be “fixed” and used the lobby restrooms. Needed to get a new keycard 3 times a day after it would stop working… ran out of towels for room, pool and beach everyday by 12:00 pm. Location is great and nice little “bar” and snack shop to get waters, Gatorade, beers etc right front but overall not great, will not stay again.

Restaurant wasnt open, im not one for fancy anything and this was by far the worst hotel ive ever stayed at. Could hear every single word/noise from room next door. Pictures are way better in the photos sorry but my family was so dissapointed in this pick.

The entire property is in poor condition. I was looking forward to the beach view bar, but on arrival noticed it's been closed for years and should be kn9cked down. The gates don't lock, so anyone has access to the hallways of the property. The only good thing about the property is its location and the wonderful front desk staff. Never saw housekeeping during our stay. Towels were never replaced. In room safe isn't even secured, so anyone could walk out with the entire thing. This experience has caused me to not trust Expedia. I'm amazed that they would promote such a place.

Staff is great. The property itself is pretty dated. It could stand some remodeling. But if you are young and going there for spring break, it should be just fine, The location is decent. You can walk across the road to the beach easily. The front desk staff is good, the housekeepers are friendly and for the class of hotel, this place had a lot less of other peoples hair found in the room compared to the last low budget place we stayed. During the peak season for the area, we stayed there for the price. Would I stay again? This time of year and price comparison, its fine,

Rooms were filthy. Tub didn’t drain properly, room was not cleaned at no time during 5 day stay and had to ask for towels 3 days in a row and when they were finally given they were left at the door.

TERRIBLE PROPERTY DONT BOOK HERE GO TO A MOTEL 6 INSTEAD OR SOMETHING. Disgusting rooms , looks like a cheap motel from 1942. Horrible lobby , elevators etc. Random people sitting on the floor in front of your doors. I didn’t know it was an outdoor setting motel but it was so bad.

Hotel was built in two stages, front in 1951, tower in 1959, both were combined. In 1951 it was the first hotel with AC in Fort Lauderdale, most luxury at that time, all celebrities at that time stayed in the Sea Club Resort, in 1951 called the Jolly Roger, Lobby was declared historic in 2008, built with Coral Stones from the Ocean. Elevators are working because they were modernized. Hotel has been renovated many times since 1951. Location is the best! yes, the front building has catwalks, the tower has its own elevator.

The hotel is severely outdated. They need to level it and rebuild. It is also very dirty- the carpet stinks and wasn’t vacuumed for probably a month, the walls paint is flaking off and the bathroom is falling apart and full of mold. Ten years ago this was a nice hotel, currently it’s a run down beach front property. The parking situation was a nightmare, they don’t have any spots to accommodate. There are all of 10 spots in the lot and a shared lot with another hotel, after a night out, we had to park in the bushes around a curve in the lot and hope no one would hit us. Fortunately the car we rented was compact enough to fit. I highly suggest you look elsewhere…it was too expensive for the stay and no peace of mind.

Your room was tested for mold and that mold has not been detected in the room.The Sea Club Resort has 54 parking spots in two lots behind the hotel, both lots owned by the hotel! In addition the Sea Club has parking for guests in the garage. The Sea Club Resort is the only Hotel that provides free parking on Fort Lauderdale Beach, and doesn't charge Resort fee!We set a high standard for ourselves, and we’re so sorry to hear this was not met in your interaction with our business.

Stay here if you're just looking for a place to shower and sleep. Room and bathroom were not super clean. Spend your time on the beach or wandering around the area. Wi-Fi was not strong so this may not be your best bet if you need that.

The property's location is excellently located on fort lauderdale beach. However you can see that they are trying to upkeep this property as best as possible but in many ways it still need updating.The walls need proper painting Upon check in i was greated by two wonderful young ladies. Customer service was amazing. I went and checked into my room however i did find 2 roaches in the room. I went back down to the front desk and spoke to one of the young ladies who again ( great customer service) apologized for it. And gave me a different room. The second room was fine. And i had no other issuses.

Overall it was average at best. The restaurant and bar are closed which was disappointing even those this is what is advertised. The hotel also is not fully renovated as advertised and was more of a motel feel. Parking was easy and the location is great.
