Bad and good location for a hotel

Posted Jul 12, 2015
Pros: The location.
Cons: Extensive renovation
Location: Close to a lot of restaurants and shopping plazas
There wasn't a line at the desk for check in so I was called over right away which was great. The agent (didn't get name) barely smiled and went through the process like a robot I was done in less than a minute. Did not mention or give overview of the restaurant, pool or WiFi, had to figure it out ourselves. Unfortunately I did not read the reviews on this hotel prior to booking it. I was assigned a room in the front of the hotel that is closest to the street and train tracks. 10 minutes of being in the room, the dinging sound for when a train was approaching, the train horns and police sirens can be heard clear as day, as well as planes from the executive airport. I went back down to inquire on a room further to the back but there was absolutely nothing available. Also inquired about moving to Sheraton Suites in Plantation but was told it was different owners so it couldn't be done. The room was ok. The dining table had marks on it and a piece of the wood on the cabinet door where the garbage bin is was torn off. The A/c was fine and bed comfortable even though I could not sleep for the first two nights because of noises, I had to get a mild sedative. I was to the point where I was prepared to lose the money I paid and go somewhere else, but my partner talked me out of it. The pool was ok, there was some leaves, a plastic cup and straw floating around. The hot tub gets warm, not hot. Did not go to the restaurant. Unfortunately I would not return.

Pros: convenient to I95
Cons: Lots
Location: see above
hotel bar and club room staff excellent, maintenance surly couldn't care less and receptionist at check in indifferent at check out great. Maintenance comment, the temp in the club room was 83 club staff call maintenance they came pointed thermometer at a/c outlet in ceiling and said its OK, temp at seating level still 83+ he then walked away almost laughing club unusable due to temp. Next to railway line and main road so noisy if your room backs onto these

Very nice hotel and very friendly staff

Posted Jun 21, 2015
I stayed in a king suite for 3 nights, the room was very comfortable and clean. The pool was clean and well lit at night and they do have a gym on the first floor and they have plenty of places around the area where you can go and grab a bite. The only downfall was the train that constantly passes by, it passes quite often but sometimes you won't even know it passed. other than that I would definitely stay here again.

A beautiful hotel that is being POORLY managed/maintained. Rude front desk person, room had smell, had mold on the curtains, and the window looking out onto the FILTHY balcony was so dirty you couldn't see though it.

Don't make the same mistake I made

Posted Mar 27, 2015 on Hotels
My family and I stayed at this hotel this past weekend. The property was dirty and in dire need of a remodel. Carpet fresh or some other carpet deodorizer was used throughout the hotel to mask the smell of dampness and mold. I would not stay there again nor would I recommend this hotel to anyone.
