birthday trip

Pros: Location. It was not right in the center of town but plenty to do in the immediate area and nice not to be jammed in with that crowd.
Cons: The pool area is extremely small and not enough chairs.
Location: There were plenty of bars, restaurants and variety of shops all within walking distance. For a very fun night go to the dinner and show at LIPS
Booked this hotel when it was still the "B" and was concerned things may have changes since becoming the Sonesta on June 1st, however, from reading other Expedia Members comments it is now better than before. I have to agree. The staff was super friendly and accommodating. The concierge and bellman could not do enough for you. Anything you asked they were willing to help or find out if they didn't know. The Asian restaurant was excellent. Try the Lobster Bomb there and the Jalapeno Margaritas at the Pool Bar. Rooms have wonderful views and extremely comfortable beds and bedding.

Beautiful oceanfront views!

Posted Jul 15, 2014
Stayed 2 nights at the Sonesta. It's located at the quieter end of the strip which my husband and I preferred. We had a premier corner oceanfront view room. The crisp white decor accented the stunning views. It was breathtaking waking up to the ocean right from bed. If the skies are clear, you'll witness a beautiful sunrise. We received a very fair rate for such a nice property during the summer off-season. Would highly recommend!

Pros: Ocean view and decor. Felt like a boutique hotel.
Cons: Towels need to be softer. Felt like sandpaper.
Location: Fort Lauderdale. Good beach access
Hotel appeared to be remodeled. Terrific job. Ocean view fab. Suzette at reception desk was very accommodating and efficient. She found out it was our anniversary and we found a bottle of complimentary champagne in our room. Would recommend.

I stayed at the hotel for 11 nights with my two young children and asked for a little fridge to store milk and some groceries but it took the staff a week to put it on the room , the pool is too small but the location is two minutes from the beach which we loved , the staff st the pool is very nice .

OK, Definitely not a four star hotel.....

Pros: close to the beach... and SAIA restaurant, food is amazing!
Cons: needs parking, the fitness room is very small, pool is small, i don't know how they can improve these things but, if they lower they price.
Location: very good, the beach is steps away, the mall is near by.
The pool is small, the enhanced room, which i believe is because the two windows, one is ocean front and the other one view is to a rubber roof of a restaurant adjacent, and there is a up charge for that, parking is valet only, price was a bit expensive comparing to other hotels near by.

Nice Hotel, Beach Front.

Posted Jul 10, 2014
Pros: beach, clean.
Cons: Parking charges are ridiculous, $28.00/day. public parking around the corner is $20.00/day. There is no complemantary coffee or refrigerator in room.
Location: Beach, Downtown Ft Lauderdale, nice shops. but parking prices are very high.
Nice hotel close to the beach. Wish employees were more friendly and attentive. Maybe because I am from California and people are very friendly here.

Nice hotel close to beach

Great hotel right on beach. Stayed over the holiday weekend and beach wasn't crowded. Far enough away from the main hotels yet close enough to everything like cruise terminal and airport. Would stay again. Eat at Plan Burrito next door.
