Nice Hotel across the street from the beach

Posted Jul 30, 2014
Pros: The hotel restaurant, gym, pool area, and day spa
Location: Hotel is a short walk to other restuarants and shops.
I arrived at the hotel and was greeted by at front desk and was informed that I had been upgraded to a suite with a city and ocean view. The room was very spacious and more than what I expected. The staff at the hotel was very friendly. The hotel is a short walk to other resturants and shops but the food at the hotel restaurant was so good that I didn't even go anywhere else. The gym were very clean and offered more equipment than I expected. The day spa is a must. Tons of services plus you can use the sauna any time during your stay. I would definately come back to this hotel again.

Great hotel across from the beach Fort Lauderdale

Posted Jul 26, 2014
Pros: The restaurant, great location, the staff, room size and view over the ocean.
Cons: All good.
Location: Beach right across the street, water taxi through Fort Lauderdale, shopping, lots of restaurants and night spots.
Wanted to stay a couple of extra days in Fort Lauderdale after a cruise and found the Atlantic Hotel and Spa on line. The hotel was centrally located right across from the beach. We enjoyed everything about our stay from the quality and comfort of the hotel (very well appointed) to the courteous and helpful staff. The concierge was great in suggesting some things to see and do in the Fort Lauderdale area. What made the stay exceptional however was the restaurant located in the hotel. My wife has some food allergies which make eating out a bit difficult. We happened to run into the executive chef from the restaurant (Beauty and the Feast) shortly after arriving and asked about the flexibility of the kitchen. He assured us that they would be able to accommodate my wife's allergies. Between the chef and our waiter they were able to come up with five "tapas" style dishes that my wife and I could share. In a nutshell the food and service were outstanding so much so that we went back the following evening and with the help of the same waiter and another one of the chefs we had another fabulous meal. Both meals felt like feasts! We have travelled extensively in Canada, the US and Europe and have rarely received such personalized attention in a restaurant. Kudos to the restaurant staff!

Car needed.

Posted Jul 23, 2014
Pros: Big rooms quiet hotel.
Cons: Dusting of the furniture to much dust.
Location: Bit of a walk to where the action is, definitely need transportation to get to the local malls and grocery stores.
Nice hotel steps to the beach, I had to rent a car as the hotel is not walking distance to the mall or local stores. I was lucky enough to park the car overnight in the rental lot at no charge as the hotel parking charges are expensive. We had an oceanfront view with a huge balcony. The cleaning could be better as the desks and furniture was dusty. Would definitely stay there again and rent a car as it's very hot to walk around in he general area.

One of the nicer hotels on the strip

Posted Jul 15, 2014
Everything about our stay was great. Only thing I would mention is the pricing of the food. I guess it's to be expected, as most nice places are pricey. But, as most things you get what you pay for. Good food, good service, definitely recommend to others.

Could not get a cool shower if my life depended on it. The shower had one temperature and one flow control.

4 nights at the beach

Posted Jun 23, 2014
Pros: the view was nice, it was clean.
Cons: change the mattresses and pillows .
Location: you have to walk 15 minutes to get to restaurants, 5 minutes by car. it is across the street from the beach
The room looks great; we got exactly what we asked for: 2 queen beds, nonsmoking, oceanfront. clean bathroom. Beds are not comfortable. I did not sleep well for 4 nights, the mattress is too soft. the pillows too. I went home with a sore neck. If you like soft beds and pillows go for it. If you like firm mattresses like me, I would think twice. The staff is nice but you have to tip your way through your stay. And it is valet parking only and it is 28$ per day. The day before we left, my husband calls for the car and the person on the phone says “we don't have that car number " and he hangs up the phone. If the valet is watching a soccer game because world cup is on now, then they will not answer the phone. You have to go downstairs and tell them yourself. If you want to rent beach chairs and umbrella on the beach, you can bill it to your hotel room but keep your receipt because "Art" the guy who rents you the chairs might decide to bill you twice. He came to us twice in one day to try to bill us again. When we showed him the receipt, he goes “the heat, you know". He still billed our room twice but the hotel was nice enough to correct that when I showed them the receipt. If you need ice, you have to call them so that they can send someone up with ice, i.e. more tips to give. Also this was a VIP hotel for expedia; the hotel staff did not have any idea about the Elite program, VIP access program when we checked in. So what is the advantage of having this rewards program?
