Attended a meeting for several days at the Westin

Posted Nov 20, 2014
Room was clean but the carpet had stains that had not been removed. Carpet in hallway was also well worn and stained. The room A/C was very loud. No room service for lunch or dinner, did have room service for breakfast if you filled out a card, only got a card the first night, no cards after that. The one breakfast I did have I ordered over easy eggs and the egg white was raw on one side, first time I ever had a restaurant mess up an egg. The café restaurant in the hotel was excellent and service was great.

Beautiful hotel; close to the beach.

Pros: I love how clean and fresh smelling the room was. I also love that there's Starbucks coffee in your room and an actual Starbucks located in the hotel
I would say that the only "drawback" to this hotel, is the location if you're looking for "night life." I was there for a conference for work, so I didn't care. It is of note that it's about a mile to the closest restaurants, stores, etc., (not connected with the hotel). They have a "sky walk" from the hotel to the beach, so you don't have to worry about crossing the road, which does have considerable traffic. The beach area is small; however, the hotel does provide lounge chairs and towels.

Worth the cost. Beach is across the street

This was our second time staying in The Westin Ft. Lauderdale Beach Resort. We absolutely love this hotel! The Starbucks near the spa and fitness center is a bonus. The Cabanas on the pool deck are awesome, not to mention the view of the ocean from the deck. Beautiful. The live music, restaurants, and club scene are just a few blocks away. The rooms are great. The beds are extremely comfortable and the bathroom is a decent size. Everything and everyone were wonderful. Get your money's worth and stay here, especially if you need to rejuvenate your life. You'll really feel like you've had a vacation. We did.

The hotel and location are both fabulous. We were upgraded to a corner room overlooking the ocean and the side view was of the intracoastal waterway. The staff was friendly and very responsive. We would love to visit again.

Pros: Pool and closeness to beach

Enjoyed our stay but thought the hotel was looking like it needed a facelift in certain areas like in bedroom

Weekend get away

The hotel is clean and the staff is great. We had a beautiful view and the location of the hotel location could not be better. You can walk to many great restaurants. The pool is great and the beach is right across from the hotel.

Not a 4 star hotel, but nice

Posted Sep 28, 2014
I've stayed at other Westin hotels, but I was a bit disappointed with my stay at the Westin Resort and Spa, Fort Lauderdale. For a 4 star hotel, I expected more. The elevator at the skywalk is very neglected. There is no service at the beach. The outdated plastic lounge chairs don't have blue padded covers like depicted in the photos, and the chairs aren't available until a man comes between 9-9:30 am, and he is quick to usher you away before 5 pm. He never said hello, and disappears for most of the afternoon. You can't order food or drinks beachside. There is just a cooler with soda and water (for a fee). Fortunately, the hotel is within walking distance of a lot of wonderful restaurants. I highly recommend the Drunken Taco for service and excellent food/drinks! I will say all the other staff members I interacted with were very nice, and the service at the pool was much better. I elected to have my room cleaned each night, rather than the receive the $5 credit, but the maids seemed to always miss something. Some days they didn't replace our glassware and we only had one robe even though there were 2 guests. It's the little things that add up to make a hotel stay impressive, and I feel like the Westin missed the mark.
