Worth the cost. Beach is across the streetPosted Oct 22, 2014
This was our second time staying in The Westin Ft. Lauderdale Beach Resort. We absolutely love this hotel! The Starbucks near the spa and fitness center is a bonus. The Cabanas on the pool deck are awesome, not to mention the view of the ocean from the deck. Beautiful. The live music, restaurants, and club scene are just a few blocks away. The rooms are great. The beds are extremely comfortable and the bathroom is a decent size. Everything and everyone were wonderful. Get your money's worth and stay here, especially if you need to rejuvenate your life. You'll really feel like you've had a vacation. We did.

The hotel and location are both fabulous. We were upgraded to a corner room overlooking the ocean and the side view was of the intracoastal waterway. The staff was friendly and very responsive. We would love to visit again.

Pros: Pool and closeness to beach

Enjoyed our stay but thought the hotel was looking like it needed a facelift in certain areas like in bedroom

Weekend get awayPosted Sep 29, 2014
The hotel is clean and the staff is great. We had a beautiful view and the location of the hotel location could not be better. You can walk to many great restaurants. The pool is great and the beach is right across from the hotel.

Not a 4 star hotel, but nicePosted Sep 28, 2014
I've stayed at other Westin hotels, but I was a bit disappointed with my stay at the Westin Resort and Spa, Fort Lauderdale. For a 4 star hotel, I expected more. The elevator at the skywalk is very neglected. There is no service at the beach. The outdated plastic lounge chairs don't have blue padded covers like depicted in the photos, and the chairs aren't available until a man comes between 9-9:30 am, and he is quick to usher you away before 5 pm. He never said hello, and disappears for most of the afternoon. You can't order food or drinks beachside. There is just a cooler with soda and water (for a fee). Fortunately, the hotel is within walking distance of a lot of wonderful restaurants. I highly recommend the Drunken Taco for service and excellent food/drinks! I will say all the other staff members I interacted with were very nice, and the service at the pool was much better. I elected to have my room cleaned each night, rather than the receive the $5 credit, but the maids seemed to always miss something. Some days they didn't replace our glassware and we only had one robe even though there were 2 guests. It's the little things that add up to make a hotel stay impressive, and I feel like the Westin missed the mark.

Girls getawayPosted Sep 22, 2014
Pros: The beds were super plush and comfortable! Also love the initial smell when walking into the lobby.
Location: Great location, lots to do within walking distance! Casablanca restaurant is about a 3 minute walk, delicious meals and great service!
Here with two of my friends for a little girl's getaway the front desk staff was wonderful upon arrival and check out but the servers in the pool are need to work on their customer service skills! The location of this hotel is perfect if you choose to skip renting a car and walk everywhere. Plus the free chairs on the beach is a nice bonus!

Great location to beachPosted Sep 22, 2014
Pros: The view and being directly on beach.
Cons: Having access to our vehicle. Valet parking only did not allow us to easily gain access to the car.
Location: Beach, water taxi that takes you to several stops including Las Olas and Mall.
Very nice hotel. Our room had a view of the beach, pool and harbour side. Cross walk that connects from hotel to the beach so you don't have to cross the street. The guy that helped us to our room was a really nice guy and at a later time provided us with information about restaurants that were close by. We were also in walking distance to water taxi.

Nice hotel on the beachPosted Sep 20, 2014
Pros: Location, room, view.
Cons: More/better food choices in the restaurants in the hotel.
Location: Its right on A1A across from the beach. There are good restaurants and shopping nearby on Las Olas Blvd.
I had a trip to Fort Lauderdale for a medical appointment, which I wasn't looking forward to. I decided to treat myself to a nice hotel on the beach and I was glad I did. It was a very nice room with a view of the intercoastal. The pool and walkway to the beach were very convenient. I also treated myself to a massage and got a $25 off from the hotel. The food choices in the hotel were somewhat limited, but the location was good for getting out to other restaurants nearby. I would definitely stay there again.
