Location is the problemPosted Mar 7, 2014
Pros: Price, room appointments, wifi, nice lobby
Location: No comment
Could never stay there again. I don't care how cheap it is. What they don't tell you is that the hotel is on 100 feet from a major railroad crossing where the trains blast their whistles coming through every 20 minutes. All day, and all night. Also, room was clean but bed was terrribly uncomfortable with a hopelessly cheap mattress.

Nice pool. not much elsePosted Mar 3, 2014
Cons: Beds, Public Relations, Organization
Location: A couple of fast food restaurants and Costco. Nothing else.
Beds are very uncomfortable, train runs right beside the hotel and is very loud. After our cruise, we arrived at the hotel at 11am. We had two young kids that needed naps but they could, or would, not get a room ready for us before the 3pm check in time. At 3pm the lineup to check in was about 10 parties deep, so it took us another 4o minutes to get our room. The buffet breakfast was alright, no fresh fruit. The pool is nice, but not for little kids. There is nothing close by other than a few fast food joints. We paid $60-$80 to shuttle 7 people from the airport to the hotel, and the same to get to the port. We were not impressed by the service, or the hotel and will not be checking in again.

Free nothingPosted Mar 3, 2014
Pros: Room clean. Grounds pretty.
Cons: WiFi strength
Location: Not much near.
Free WiFi that you could not connect to. Free drinks no one wanted - only limited well drinks (yuk) and only Burgundy wine (double yuk). The worst lawn chairs by the pool I've ever been in. VERY limited restaurant hour & menu. Grounds were pretty. Room was clean. Served the purpose. BTW, barely heard the train, so don't worry about that.

On way to key westPosted Feb 27, 2014
Close to I95 which was convenient. Hotel needs a refurb, room was ok but was shabby apart from a new modern basin. The web pictures must be a demo room as ours was nothing like that. Pool area looked good with plenty of sun bathing loungers. Wifi and parking were free but the lobby computers were very very slow.

Nice hotel near airport, highway, railwayPosted Feb 26, 2014
Pros: Free welcome drinks. Friendly bar staff and decent Continental breakfast.
Cons: Cleanliness of outside hallways and stairways.
Location: A highway hotel. Need I say more?
Very noisy! They are improving the rooms but stairways need cleaning. Noisy airport, railway trains and near interstate 95...need I say more?

A well run hotel that provides good value.Posted Feb 26, 2014
Pros: Familiar with the safe, easy access and hotel facilities, including the excellent pool and lush tropical courtyard.
Cons: Would be nice to have food and beverage service available throughout the day at the pool area, rather than just in the evening.
Location: Hotel is VERY close to the railway tracks and train noise is considerable. Pool view/courtyard reservations are highly recommended to minimize noise.
I've stayed at this hotel off & on for at least 12 years for 1-3 week vacations. Current front desk clerks and Renata in the bar are equally obliging to ALL Canadian guests. Hotel's complimentary "welcome cocktail" and "free" parking are nice touches. Definitely not located in the heart of the beach district "action", but priced accordingly.

Universal Palms OK For FamiliesPosted Feb 20, 2014
Cons: All the smoking in front of the rooms
Location: Not a very good neighborhood. Love the Waffle House next door. Very close to I 95 for access to all coastal locations.
The lobby and pool area are very nice to amazing and the staff is very friendly and helpful. The rooms were small, no place to hang anything is a very small bathroom, and when you are traveling with two females you need places to hang stuff. Did not like that the hotel is an older style with all the room doors and windows facing out, would have felt more secure with controlled access to the rooms. The neighborhood is not the best. Almost witnessed a few fights at the Waffle House next door. With all that said I would not recommend it for families, but spring breakers have at it, it would be an inexpensive and nice place to stay

Poor value for too much money!Posted Feb 17, 2014
Cons: See above
Location: Location is good if you are visiting Ft. Lauderdale area.
The only thing that came close to meeting expectations was the pool-even that showed signs of age. There was no hot water in the bathroom sink. The air handling unit was so noisy, sleep was impossible. The room was noisy from the outside. Tile floors were cold and needed at least some rugs. Limited TV channels. Overall, this was a disappointment.

waiting for a jet planePosted Feb 14, 2014
Pros: Was very pleased with pool and areas around it with fountains, and private sitting spaces.
Cons: As most places the bathroom too small, no ventilation and stays damp. the air conditioning unit too close to bed and was unable to adjust flow of air
Location: commercial blvd close and 10 min ride to ft Lauderdale beach area.
bad weather week in north had to reschedule flight 1 ext day...wasn't too sure about this hotel I remember it by another name but took chance because of price and close prox to airport. have to say we were surprising pleased. Price was good, ,lobby, pool, restaurant and bar were very well done, the area is still a little sketchy and of course THE TRAIN. ok for 1 or 2 days.
Train StationPosted Feb 13, 2014
Pros: Cost. Room was Nice.
Cons: See my comments above.
This hotel is located right next to a commuter rail line. About every 15-20 minutes through the night the train would go by. While this would not be a problem, the blowing the horn as it goes through the intersection was a big problem. Woke me up over and over. The next concern was the wall mounted air conditioner. It would cycle on and off every 10 minutes or so. Each time it would start up it sounded like a helicopter taking off. Very Very loud unit. This kept me awake the times that the train didn't. Then at 5:30 in the morning the dumpsters outside our area of the hotel got emptied. A very loud experience with them banging against the truck.
