A gem!

Posted Jul 7, 2014
we stayed at la casa next door and from the moment we stepped onto the property, the staff was amazing and helpful. La Casa is goreous and very close to the beach, the rooms are gorgeous and the property is very comfortable and cozy. My family and I loved everything and will surely return!

quaint place close to the beach!

Posted May 20, 2014
Pros: beautiful, tropical landscaping. very helpful, friendly staff!
Cons: room was a little stale when we first arrived but nothing that a couple of open windows didn't fix.
Location: the beach is a very short walk; about 3 blocks. lots of restaurants within walking distance. bikes available for rent at sister hotel.
The hotel grounds were beautiful and the pools were very clean! our "room" was an apartment with a kitchen and very spacious. the king bed was comfy and firm. we rented bikes from their sister hotel which was convenient. the beach is a short 3 block walk and can sometimes hear the ocean from the hotel! highly recommend especially for the price!

The hotel is quaint but well kept. I loved it.

Posted May 20, 2014
Pros: I liked that it was a two level hotel and easy free street parking. Two or three short blocks to the beach. The room had a frig and microwave.
Cons: Perhaps the tile floor. It is original tile so it is cracked in a few places. It didn't really bother me.
Location: Beach is two-three short blocks away. It is walking distance to many dinning and drinking busisnesses.
This hotel is cute. Well kept and clean. The staff is very nice. They have three pools one is heated, a hot tub and a grilling area. It is not a Ritz style hotel but is very comfortable.

White Noise

Posted May 1, 2014
Pros: Location was close to motel
Cons: Rooms could use a little remodeling, and a quieter air conditioner.
Location: 3 blocks from ocean. 3 blocks from restaurants.
I couldn't get any sleep in this motel as the air conditioning unit was so noisy. If you don't have any problem with white noise, you may be okay. The room and motel are fairly rundown, but clean. Very modest accommodations. Only three blocks from the beach though. Restaurants are also 3 blocks away. We didn't use the pool, but it looked nice and clean,

If you want to get the sunrise....

Posted Apr 12, 2014
This hotel offers it at walking distance. Walk to the beach and get the sunrise. A lot of locals are running along the beach and coming from the cold weather it felt great to be there. There are 2 pools in the hotel and a jacuzzi. Bathrooms are a little old but great for a short stay. Friendly staff.

Good location, nice gardens

Easy to walk to sea front from hotel and to catch buses and trams. Lovely gardens to retreat to from rather busy neighbourhood. Fort Lauderdale rather busy and commercial for our liking.

Cozy and Full of Character

Posted Apr 5, 2014
Pros: -Comfortable room with plenty of space. -Friendly and easygoing staff -Colorful and cozy setting
Cons: A few updates wouldn't hurt. Could use a little TLC.
Location: Walking distance from the beach and plenty of restaurants.
My husband and I are pretty easygoing and low maintenance and our favorite kind of hotels are the ones that have some character to them. I've done big, expensive resorts but I prefer the places that feel comfortable and quiant. I really liked Winterset Suites. Our room was clean and spacious. We had a small pool and jacuzzi right out front which was really convenient. Because I like to make my own hours while on vacation, I enjoy not having any restrictions on when I can go to the pool/jacuzzi. If you have kids, this might not be the place for you because there are no lifeguards on duty. Also, security seems pretty lax in terms of access to the premises. We would come and go without ever seeing any staff unless we walked passed the office. With that said, I really enjoyed my stay and have very little to complain about. It's not a brand new hotel so if you're looking for fancy and 5 star, don't bother.

I survived!

This is not a nice hotel. Very dated and noises. The rooms need an update but the bed was ok. The hotel is 2 stories with no elevator and outside entrance. I paid $129 on Expedia and this is a $59 hotel. We were going on a cruise the next day and came in late so we spent about 10 hours there.
