Wonderful hotel just outside NYcPosted Nov 4, 2013
Pros: There wasnt much not to like about the hotel, but I loved the warm welcome the staff always give, and the great atmosphere of the place.
Cons: It doesnt have many faults.
Location: The area itself is lovely, quite quiet, but has a small mall of shops behind it, as well as a cinema & some more shops a bit further away (10 mins)
We had a fantastic experience with our stay at the Homewood Suites. Its in a great location on the other side of the Hudson River, but dont let that think it is a problem for getting to NYC. There are numerous options to get across, via the 158 bus that stops right outside the Hotel, it goes to the Port Authority Bus Terminal. There is also a shuttle minibus that the hotel provides and will take you to the ferry terminal, where its a 7 minute trip across on the ferry (and then free buses into key streets in NYC). The hotel itself is fantastic, the rooms are spacious, clean and well appointed, and the staff are so very friendly and knowledgeable about different ways to get around. The breakfast is good, as are the evening get togethers (mon-thurs). We only had opportunity to make it to one of the evening meals, but it was lovely.

Located on top of a very nice outdoor mall, easy access to the city and nearby activities. The staff and room were great!

Excellent hotel with easy access to ManhattanPosted Oct 17, 2013
Cons: Maybe more variety with the breakfast and evening meals, the food did get quite samey.
Location: There is a shopping complex around the hotel providing you with what you need.
My girlfriend and I stayed at this hotel for 7 nights in total and were very happy we chose this one. The hotel is a great location and offers a perfect view of Manhattan across the river. You can use the hotel's free shuttle service to take you to the NJ Waterway ferry which will take you to Manhattan, then when you reach Manhattan there is a free bus service going across different parts of the island. Even in peak hours it takes no more than about 45-60 minutes to get to the various NYC landmarks from the hotel. Also, since you are located further out it's much cheaper than staying in Manhattan (we probably probably would've got 4 nights for the same money). The hotel staff were always friendly and helpful and the rooms were spacious and had all of the necessary facilities. If you're looking to stay in New York for more than 2-4 nights then I highly recommend this hotel.

Great alternative to staying in the cityPosted Aug 22, 2013 on Hotels.com
We were attending a wedding in NYC and a reception at the Waterfront Restaurant in North Bergen - we originally chose this hotel b/c it was 5 minutes from the reception venue and we knew we would be tired after the festivities. I am happy to say this hotel exceeded our expectations - despite an unplanned late check-in, the staff was gracious, our room was clean, spacious, and well-furnished and the breakfast in the morning included a nice selection of hot and cold foods in a clean, bright area in the lobby. The hotel is attached to some shops (Panera, The Gap, etc.) and is about 10 minutes (easy drive) to the George Washington Bridge - very easy access to NYC. I would definitely stay here again and would recommend this hotel to any friends who are planning to visit NYC.
