“Wonderful place to stay”
Obviously these reviews are relative to the person. We aren't very picky. The hotel is no where near resort style, but it's a very cozy little place to get away. We had our own cottage all to ourselves which made it kind of a home away from home. They came in every day and cleaned all the sand up off the floor, washed dishes, changed sheets, and gave us fresh towels which is all we needed. The hotel is seconds away from 2 great restaurants where they play live music until about dusk. The beach is only a 2 minute walk up the street where you can have dinnerand watch the sunset every night. I hope this hotel doesn't receive any bad reviews. Regardless, we will definitely be staying there again!
“A Real Gem!”
We had a wonderful stay here. The room was clean when we arrived and cleaned everyday. The staff was friendly and went out of their way to help. We had everything we needed. Great restaurants and shopping closeby, free beach access within a 3 minute walk, beach chairs and umbrellas to use (not rent), free breakfast everyday (full breakfast, not continental), a new pool, free parking, etc. The hotel is located in a busier area, but it was quiet and relaxing. My husband and I will definitely return.
“location location location”
The Inn was very comfortable and clean. We liked its location--proximity to beach, restaurants, rental facility.
“Quaint, old-Floida experience”
Presented an unexpected and unique experience. Much more old Florida style v. a sterile condo-style. Cottages were unique. Very casual envronment.
“Captiva Getaway”
Very quaint hotel! Short walk to the beach. Would recommend the Captiva Island Inn to anyone!
“Interesting place!”
If you want to take a step back and enjoy old style Florida, this might be the place for you. This is a pretty basic place, right in the middle of Captiva. The restaurants and bars are easy walking distance (right out your door!). The beach is at the end of the street and it is fantastic.
“needs help”
small room. bed saged in the middle.room was not a 3 star hotel. piant was on the towel holder and mold in the shower ,and on the shower curtain.tv had bad reception.was not worth the money.
“Maybe at 1/10 the price.”
Maybe we shouldn't expect so much as it was a holiday week stay, Easter, but for what we paid the small, not too clean funky old Florida room made it impossible to be comfortable.
“Not impresses”
The hotel might be worthy of the rating but i was not warned that i would not be in the hotel but rather what they described as "The Love Shack", a pink and purple painted shed in the car park area. The tiles were loose on the floor, no bedside tables or lamps- let alone a telephone, clock, coffee maker or hair drier. The shower door was so rusted that it would not shut. Television reception was poor and the blinds on the windows left us feeling very exposed. We had a fridge and the beds were made daily and towels were provided. There was a wardrobe but it was in the bathroom because the bedroom was not big enough. Just enough room to walk around the bed. The area was lovely. The breakfast was well prepared - RC Otters was the best. The car park was for restaurant goers as well so we were reluctant to move the car or lose the space. The pool was small but secluded.
